  1. My D3 i bought new when it first came out, has been in 3 of my vehicles, first a 06 altima, then into a 05 CTS, and now its in my 04 Escalade w bose/onstar. It has been working just fine up until 2 days ago. I have a toggle on off switch to control the dimming of the screen instead of it dimming and un dimming when the headlights are turned on. The switch is hanging below my driver side dash. The other day, i went to flick the switch, and part of the switch may have hit metal or something, and when i hit the switch to dim the unit. the entire thing shut off. I checked the fuse in the back
  2. figured it out. it was one of the two adjustable knobs on the gmos-04 adapter box that had to be turned down a little bit.
  3. Ive had my D3 installed in 3 diff vehicles, a 06 Altima, 05 CTS and now its in my 04 Escalade. Yesterday i noticed when i put my key in and put it in the on position, im hearing a high pitched interference noise. I never noticed it until yesterday and ive had it installed for a year and a couple months. Any idea what it could be? I havent installed or done anything different lately.
  4. searched around but couldnt find exactly what im looking for. what do i need to install a avic D3 in a 04 escalade. has factory navi already in it, with bose and onstar. will that work with the bose speakers? crutchfield is no help because they no longer sell the avic d3 and i cant find out what harnesses i need ect. any information is greatly appreciated
  5. ive read up about this on a couple of topics already made about it. my unit had been working fine up until now, i bought it when it just came out, and have had no problems. the past week, its been acting up, putting me on a road im not really on, then working again, and i had the insert correct disk once last week. today i go to leave work, and it comes back with the insert correct disk message, im locked out of the unit totally and tried taking the disc out and putting it back in. no dice. i tried resetting 10 times, unplugging neg. battery cable ect. nothing worked. then i got home toni
  6. what do you mean? ive had the avic d3 for pretty much 1 year and never had any of those problems.
  7. finished mine back in nov, i chose to do most of it myself and not pay someone the rediculous prices ive heard it would take to get it done. took me almost all weekend to cut out that space and mount the d3, i wanted everything to be cut as perfect as possible, alot of filing to get it smooth ect. i had my buddy who works at a local shop wire it up for it, it was weird because at first, the unit was on all the time even with the key out, so he had to tap into this wire and that wire. another weird thing, is that you can control the volume with the d3 knob, as well as the factory radio knobs
  8. that would be me, why, are you over there?
  9. the tweeter near me does pretty good installs, they did my altima speakers a couple other things and did a pretty clean install no problems, circuit city is another story
  10. i might just pay to have it put in if this is going to be a big pain in the ass because i know how gm is with the radios and what not and how they transmit the keyless entry through the radio ect, i wonder how much tweeter charges to put it in
  11. okay so im assuming there are diffrent kits, because ive seen some people with the cts and they have a aftermarket nav and they lost theyre display screen under the vents, i want to keep that
  12. this is the exact dash i have can i get all the shit i need at circuit city ect?
  13. I have the avic d3 which i had in my 2006 nissan altima 3.5 se which i installed myself. i just bought a 2005 cadillac cts, no bose, yes onstar. What do i need to get this installed? i also want to keep my DIC screen at the top.
  14. 1 more question can i wrap the mute wire into the black ground wire and just ground the black ground wire? anyone tried that
  15. im gonna take a crack at it tomarrow morning
