  1. on the video from the ipod, it depends on what model ipod. My 32gb ipod w/ video outputs a/v, but my new ipod touch does not. you just have to push the soft button on the top left of the d3 screen where it says video, then control the ipod by hand, not through the d3.
  2. On mine I changed the settings to mute, but found that it still makes a loud hissing sound when it would be making the beep.
  3. MY 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic does not even have the dimmer wire at the stereo, so i am having to run a wire from the back of the stereo to one of my parking lights or something like that. I think that all the dimmer wire on the deck does is look for voltage to be present then it goes into "night" mode. It doesn't even draw any current, I think. There shouldn't be any problem with hookng up the dimmer wire
  4. I thought that I may have to do that, but I ended up finding a PAC harness that converts the factory plug to RCA's. It even still keeps the exterior aux in and keeps the i/r headphones in operation. I also will need to add whatever harness is required to swap out the h/u, as it gives the screen it's power.
  5. I hope the lucky guy who bought the Maxima I traded in is tearing his eyes out as to why all of a sudden his XM stopped working after 10 months. It's because I finally took it off my family plan! I hope I can get one of these promos to work for me, since I gave some guy free service for so long....
  6. I thought the reason to have a forum like this was to try to find others with experience where you are having problems and try to save some time and money that others have spent.
  7. Thats the obvious answer, but it is a factory screen. I havent taken it apart for myself, but i am told that it is not that simple. It supposedly has I guess that i need to take the head unit out of the dash and see for my self.
  8. I have the factory head unit that has 2 slots, one for the cd and one for the DVD. I want to install a D3 to replace it, but of course don't want to lose the rear monitor. is there a way to intigrate the d3 with the factory screen?

  10. I'm experiencing a similiar problem. I drive an 07 Chevy with a duramax diesel. I first had the problem when it got cold. The first time it happened to me I turned the key to on and waited for the wait to start light to go off (glow plugs), while I was waiting the unit started like normal. It was in the middle of its loading process (the one with my custom picture, not the text it has right at first) and I turned the key to start. This is when the screen went blank. It looks to me that the screen back light is on, but there is no picture. I have audio, but it's like there is no video going to
