Really cool of you to do that. Just a heads up, Crutchfield has every manual for every radio on their website. If you look at the "What's In The Box" section for each radio, you will see a link to download the manuals.
You are correct Scotty, but last time I looked, it was not yet there.

Has anyone tried using one of those 2.5" IDE to CF adapters? I would think it would speed up the system a bunch. http://www.amazon.com/Syba-Connectivity-44-pin-Compact-Adapter/dp/B0036DDXUM Whould a 32gb CF module work? Together this would only be a $40 upgrade!

I love newsgroups, I only wish I knew how to POST anonymously. www.wetransfer.com allows 2gb at a time file transfers. Just Sayin'.

People who still use Limewire these days wouldn't be able to figure out torrents, even though it's the simplest thing ever.
OK ok ok thanks for the hazing. I usually don't use torrents b/c I'm a usenet man...hello? I can d/l 1000x faster with usenet! Anywayz, thanks to Garret's tips on torrent software. I figured it out all by my lonesome and now have successfully updated my Z3. Thanks to all!

Limewire is down. I would really appreciate a usenet or RapidShare post of the 2010 map image. Thanks!

I'm just gonna patiently wait for a generous forum member to post an Acronis image TIA

JUST A BIG THANKS TO EVERYONE HERE!!!
I finally upgraded my March 2007 Z2 to Z3. I did it myself with an old 80gb drive I had lying around from my now broken laptop. I booted the old laptop from CD and unlocked the drive from the laptop's internal port, then using a usb adapter I had, I plugged that drive into my desktop to finish the image writing.
I performed the two wire bypass but it took me forever to find information about that friggin Lime Green wire for the Parking brake. I wanted to confirm where it was before I cut that wire. After numerous searches and a lot of reading I found that the answer was in my glove box all along -- in the installation manual. So I want to clarify for others that the Lime Green Wire is INDEED located on the Power Harness and you may ground it to the all-black wire that is a few pins away.
Thanks Again!

My unit was in repair when the firmware update was released internally and they applied it to mine in the shop!!! The rep said the update will be online next week. YEAY!!!! I mean...it's abou f***ing time you idiots!

I'm having the same problem. I just removed my unit to send in. The tech at Pioneer was poo pooing our theories stating that the unit needs a 14 gauge wire direct to the battery itself and and a direct ground for the HD to run properly as (he says) is stated in the install directions. Hes stated that the HDs are not getting enough juice and that's why they are failing.
Don't kill the messenger....

What did you do to reduce your echo issue?
I did a level 3 reset and then re-paired the two devices with the volume at zero as recomended by this board and my installer. It still annoys the callers, but less so now.
I miss my bypass, such a pain in the ass to use VG or Hand brake!!
BTW installer is pushing final touches to dash faceplate until tuesday so photos will have to wait.
Thanks for all ur help.

Update:
Bluetooth now much less echoey, but losses BT signal in middle of call.
XM Nav problem fixed with level 3 reset.
I have to assume VSS is installed otherwise the other speed functions wouldn't work, right?
Thanks.

I had an N3 in my old car and I just bought a 2007 VW EOS and installed the Z-2 w/ IPOD, Bluetooth, XM Nav and SIRIUS. Found out that the "Technology Package" option on my car INCLUDED a video camera with the rear backup warning beeper, so that was an easy plug-in.
Pictures to come l8r today!!!
First of all wow, sooo much faster and love the voice stuff (when it works). My installer was able to utilize the Volume and mute buttons on my steering wheel. I was surprised that you STILL cannot load MP3s on the HD. I was also bummed that the screen still does not tilt forward only backwards.
Problem #1: Bluetooth is STILL very echoey. Do you think I should try this update CD?? I cannot at the moment try the volume down paring, because my installer changed the password and I'm guessing I need to do a level 3 reset to get that working.
Problem #2: XM Nav traffic shows green and red lines with accident icons, but ALL of the traffic buttons under information are STILL greyed out. Any Ideas?
Problem #3 the slope indicator is not functioning.
Thanks!

Pioneer only has the operations manual as far as I've seen. The Installation manual is M.I.A.
