  1. Hi, dear digeimomo and pionara. I have same problem. I bought my avic-x920bt from USA, but I want to use it in Turkey. So, before not to do a mistake I want to learn right way.

    1. I downloaded "firmware" from this page "CNSD-310FM EU 2012" and verinfo.dat, cardinfo.cif from the page of"CNSD-310FM US/CAN 2012"

    2. I opened the cardinfo.cif in text editor and replaced "KMQ1S8PF5CUQE7LKUX" with "X07EURX27EURX30EUR"

    Am I right?

Again, it's totally unsupported and you may find some things not working  like you would expect (like FM tunings, voices, etc), but I believe you may be able to get nav/maps working.

You will need to use everything from EU update, except take cardinfo.cif from US update, but make sure you use the changes for X920BT as I had in my US instructions.

  2. if you are going to buy it new, wait for the z150bh. Looks like significant improvement to navi and ui over previous generations. There are several other threads here discussing the features of new 50's series.

  3. if PRG.FLG does not exist in USER folder, then your unit uses the software in PRG0

Now - what application version is your unit using? (You can find out by going to service info screen and holding top left corner for 3 secs.)

Where you do the hex edit depends upon which version you are editing.

Also, why did you start a completely new thread for this? There is already a thread for this topic

You probably shouldn't be messing around with your unit if these instructions cannot be followed:

Maybe ask someone to help you with translation?

  4. So u say i can use the cardinfo.cif file from my legal CNSD-110FM and overwrite the cardinfo.cif file in the not legal CNSD-310FM with that, and then is "maybe" work ?

Sorry cannot help you with illegal things. If you have legitimately obtained version of CNSD-310FM, then my method is a simple way for you to install your legal software without having to enter the password.

The cardinfo.cif does not contain version information - only hardware model information. It's just a "marker" file that indicates to the unit that there is an upgrade card inserted. It has a list of hardware models encoded into it, so that is why certain cardinfo.cif's work only on certain models. Because the cardinfo.cif provided in some updates are only for certain models (like f930 & f30), I provided some instructions on how to update that cardinfo.cif to recognize older units.

Did you follow this information:             #2

  5. Hi all.

Im trying to update the AVIC F10BT (EU version) to the map update CNSD-310FM EU but when i put the SD card into the device and its showing a gray SD icon, i then turn off the car and back on with the SD card plugged in, and still a gray SD icon.

I have updated my device to CNSD-110FM with a original update, do i need to update to CNSD-210FM before i can update to CNSD-310FM ?

no. you can go straight to this update.

Did you read my instructions about editing cardinfo.cif for f10,f20,f920? If you have the right cardinfo.cif for your unit, then it will ask you to upgrade as soon as you insert the update sd card

  6. If you want to use ipod cable with control from head unit, it will have to be connected to AV1 on av harness in the back, using the proper pioneer (or equivalent cable) that has usb, video, and stereo audio rcas, with dock connector on the other end.

Alternatively, i think you can use the apple composite cable (which some people like better). Be warned about using ebay aftermarket clones of apple composite cables.

  7. Chlarikd they are not timely, but pioneer does have "updates" that bring your unit up to same as latest model. They are the yearly map updates. They are expensive but you can make an x920 run the same software as 940 or z110 run same software as z140. Now this may all change with new 50 series because of new ui and nav, which would be a major needed update - currently pioneers ui is tired and just unpolished and the nav is worst-in-class. Because of new hardware this might be changing this upgrade ability for older units. But then again If that were the case and we are talking about a new generation of medels, i would expext a new line of model numbers - say z210, etc. but anybody who knows anything about pioneer model numbering at least with avic series knows that somebody let a monkey on crack go nuts with a bag of alphabet tiles.
