  1. I don't have any sample mp3's but I know songs where guitar sound comes from left to right, then right to left, for example. It sounds OK in our other vehicles but with the Z130BT, the guitar sound stays in the center. If you can post some links to some clips, that would be great, JohnK. PS you wouldn't happen to be the JohnK from TDT's forums, would you?
  2. Hi all, our Z130BT sounds great but it seems to be in something like MONO while playing any input, be it FM, SD, Sirius, DVD, etc. We have a 2011 Buick with 9 Harmon Kardon speakers and songs I know have tracks that span from left to right on other systems sound like they're only coming from the center with The Z130. When I adjust the balance and fade, the channels separate correctly but all the speakers put out the same sound, i.e. there is no "LEFT", "RIGHT", "FRONT" or "REAR" separation with songs that I know a guitar, for example, should be coming from the left side and vocals from the r
  3. Thanks for the reminder, Ron S. I should have remembered that 2500 number from our 2010 GMC Terrain stock Alpine HU limits with file system on USB. I think I will just leave it as 2 separate SD's, one for music, one for videos. I do still have the problem of ""Tracks not playable will be skipped"" with audio files and no way they are over 150 minutes or 2 GB long. They are 3 to 5 minute mp3 songs .
  4. I will have to check the file sizes of the videos. If memory serves, I put a few videos into a folder called "video" and a few songs in a folder called "music" or whatever they were supposed to be called as per the manual. All worked well. When i purchased a 17GB SD card and loaded it with 11GB of music and the rest with video is when the problem of not being able to select the video folder started. I have since purchased another sd card just for videos and will play around some more.
  5. We purchased a GM vehicle in August, 2011. It came with the upgraded Harmon Kardon audio (excellent for our tastes) along with Onstar and bluetooth but no Nav. Our dealer recommended the Pioneer Z130BT to get the Nav we wanted. Using the factory installed harmon Kardon speakers We have the latest firmware installed, confirmed by checking the service screen. Likes: Hi def tuner, excellent sound in urban areas Sirius satellite radio, excellent iPod connect, excellent usb connect, excellent SD card slot, excellent CD/DVD playback, excellent Nav, screen, route recalculation excellen
  6. i get the song/artist info on my z130bt from digital over-the-air fm radio stations. nothing from analog stations, however.
  7. it's in one of the menus. you can select us english and something like 'samantha'. didn't change anything on my system, still the same robotic monotone voice. will try again when bored.
  8. there is a system setting to defeat the echo problem. it works quite well. i can't remember exactly which menu it's in but i turned it off by accident while playing around and everyone i talked to via BT complained of the echo. i went back into the system settings, found the echo defeat, turned it on and all is well again ever since.
  9. thanks safaridave, useful info. i found that having video and music on the same sd card, in two folders called video and music, the videos are not selectable. seems the videos must be on there own sd card?
  10. Thanks again 1loudls. I'll do some reading on how to backup the stock files pronto and post them up here. Hopefully have some spare time over the holidays.
  11. Hi 1loudls. Thanks for your replies. Makes sense about the camera wiring, thanks for the idea! Not sure of the specific Onstar module they used. I can ask, however. The first one sounded great, volume-wise, but any source playback (tuner, sirius, sd, ipod, etc.) lacked bass and subwoofer frequencies and generally just sounded "mediocre", the stock unit sounded better by far! The second Onstar module sounds great for source playback but the Onstar volume is way too loud even at the lowest volume setting. The installer said he had it dialed down as low as it would go. Neither is
  12. guess best place to start is here LOL! http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/GPS-Navigation/AVIC-Z130BT DOH!
  13. Hello, nice forum! Recently got a car and had the dealer (yes, boring, but i'm getting up in years LOL) install an F30BT. The sound was very lacking through the Harmon-Kardon speakers so the installer changed what I guess you all refer to as the "PAC" module? The sound really kicks out nicely now (us older 50+ folk enjoy cranking it too you know ...what??? LOL). Of course now the ONSTAR (which i don't use but the wife does) is way too loud. Installer said that was best he could do: 1) great sound, crappy ONSTAR 2) great ONSTAR, crappy sound He said there may be a fix in the
