  1. if it keeps blowing fuses there is an internal issue, probably a diode blown. question is what wire did your friend tie into on the cig lighter? sounds like he may have tied the ground to a power line, if he had tied power to power even at the cig lighter this would not have blown a fuse or smoked the unit. where did you get the unit from? if your friend did indeed tie power to power and ground to ground then you may be able to take the unit back for an exchange.

  2. #1 ure a loser

    #2 ur adopted

#1. I am a loser who CAN read fine print.

#2. I may be adopted, but at least my adoptive parents arent trailer trash fuckers who raised an idiot kid.

Dont mind the idiot newb, xsdbs. He is just mad that he was too fucking illiterate to read the fine print and now he feels he got screwed.

yeah some people want a kiss to go with the screw. guess all he got was a pat on the back of the head and a GOOD BOY.

  3. [quote="xsdbs"]wow, there are some old guys here, ya mind if I through a couple out @ ya:

1970's vehicles such as opal gt, chevy luv trucks, datsun B210,

    80's nissan picks or,

maybe an easy 1- the good ole 10 minute ant, unit & 2 door spkrs finished in 15 minutes. How many remember having to fabricate your own dash kits from abs panels? what about before you could get factory harness adaptors and you had to figure out the wiring? BOY those were the days. kids got it easy anymore. I know there are still a few difficult cars today but they all have intergration parts that really allows any one to do most installs.

OK maybe not that old, anyone remember when scosche and AI started coming out with factory kits and harnesses. I remember having to cut din and eq openings into abs plastic sheets with a box knife and file for ddin openings like for nissan and toyota units with the old pockets under the radio. Now today we have Computer languages and panel intergrated items to contend with amongst others. I guess it will always be somethig huh.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I was being a little lazy and thought I would ask instead of fiqure it out.

  6. bullshit!

the customer i doubt is trying to pull an insurance scam. 12k in damage is more then just modding a dash to make a head unit fit. understand that !!!!

not to mention honda not letting the vehicle be on the road, you (cc employee) aint getting away with saying "oh he signed a waiver and now tryign to jack cc...."

He may very well have known there was modding going on, but it makes no sense that his brand new car would suffer such abuse with or without a waiver. the common sense should be on the side of the installer and manager to say... uh... what your asking is toooo extreme and cant be done, you dont have him sign some waiver that obsolves you of destroying his car. Also, i believe he mentioned z2 not z3, though the relative size is similar there is a difference in model numbers.

Personally, if the hack job was so bad the installers shouldnt of done it, cc employees arent paid on commesion as an installer so money wasnt a motivating factor. Also the customer now sounds a little to laid back for being in that position, something doesnt sound straight there with him.

As I mentioned I am not a CC employee, I am an independent installer of over 20 yrs. I am not condoning the work that CC did and YES some things are better off not being done or at least do it with some customizing. Take a look at the receipt written by the dealership, also take note of the total hrs for repair ( 44 +5 =49 not 51) also take a lok at the tax section, tax is due on parts not labor.

  7. this post has been up for a few days, I saw it on another forum on monday and it had a lot more info given than there is now. This guy had a receipt for repairs and the handwritting was worse than a 12 yr old. Some of the things listed for repair were completely not related to a radio install. In the last 2 days there have been several replies to this topic on the forum where I saw this post originally. ( I am not naming the forum because I do not know if it is ok with this forum). In fact one of the original installers ( so says the installer) and the service mgr have replied and say that this customer wanted the unit installed even after he was told about needed modifications and that he signed a waiver. The customer even stated that he saw the installer using a heat gun inside the dash before the rasdio waas out of the box and he thought wtf and he continued to let the installer work on the car. By no means am I saying this install is ok at all and yes it is a hack however this customer is clearly trying to do an ins scam and trying to scam CC. NO I am not a CC installer or have anything to do with CC. I really hate it when someone gets what he wants even when warned about the lack of quality that will come from it, signs a waiver then tries to scam everyone. Since this guys original post from this weekend he has deleated a whole lot of it so that it some what seems that CC completely distroyed his car. You would have totally laughed if you had seen the invoice for repair.

  8. what interface module did you use? to get the radio shut off right after ign is shut off, just run a new wire to the ign switch wiring and tap into the brown wire, that will provide power in the acc & on position. the green wire should be at the radio harness, if you had auto speed compensated sound control on the factory radio

ps, your grammer need a little work, not being mean but......

  9. does anyone know what the milivolt output on a nano ipod is. I think it must be quite low, I had mine hooked into my home stereo last night thru an aux in and I had to have the volume on the ipod all the way up and the stereo volume up much higher than I normally have it to just get a listenable level, thanks for any help

  10. I have one in a slot ported box with about 1200 watts going to it. Its fuckin loud and still pretty accurate for a ported sub. You are going to need a HUGE box if he wants to do four of them though. Hope its an SUV or wagon or it ain't gonna fit

it's a 94 fullsize bronco, I fiqure about 3.6 cf per pair, sound about right ? want to tune @ 40 hz with a sub sonic filter around 25 hz.

  11. has anyone here had experiance with the pioneer w3001 d4 subs, I got a buddy wanting to use 4 in a ported box and I am wondering if he should be looking at something else. He'll be using 1 powerbass 3000d amp on each pair. any thoughts?

  12. That law also states you are in violation if you even have it installed so the driver is in view. He doesn't have to be watching it...it just has to exist so it's possible.
Well, the law says that the video screen can't be "visible from the operator's seat" while a movie is playing and the car isn't parked with the parking brake on, so all you would need is something to make it temporarily not visible from the operators seat while everybody else watches a movie.

just go to a tack shop ( horse supplies) and get a set of side blinders, cheap and effective[/u]

  13. the ant is matched to the length of the cable kinda like cb ant's have to be matched for the swr and when you cut out a section larger than a couple of inches it screws the signal up. I have had to splice and solder a cable that was pinched and it worked well and yes I have tried to cut the cable down shorter and had recption issues, when I did a test by adding the cut out section back in the recption was much better, so I had to replace the ant & full cable.

  14. I am looking to get an Avic D3 and i was browsing the internet looking at prices and i came across the website below...they have the D3 priced for $519...im just wondering if anyone has used this site and if its legit or not. Thanks

  15. half you mother fuggers cant drive anyways, not to mention society in general. last thing i want is anyone fiddling with the radio or navi let alone their dvd player while driving. Screw that, I dont even want your passangers fiddling with it. There are some pretty stupid people out there, hence why the cell phone hands free laws and so forth.

how about them people with a cigarette in one hand and a dog in the other, while driving. seriously!!

WOW, slightly angry, someone cut you off today? can't wait for that new pio- nav that works off of telepathic wavelenghts. all you got to do is think about where you are going or the music you want to play. also supposed to come with a hat with built in electrodes that monitors electric signals thru your hair and ears in case you can't think straight or clear.
