I only find a few new things with the update.

- a new phone icon with blue tooth symbol

- phone connects faster via bluethooth

- appradio menu seems faster

- CarMediaPlayer doesnt skip at the begining of songs anymore

- appextensions still works

- also appradio will ask you to unlock your phone if locked.

thats about all i have noticed so far.

Is it worth it?

Hay Falkey77 and Audi88, did the metra adapter solve this problem of weak radio reception for you or just amplify the static?

I dont find the radio quailty to be the best with app radio but the metra adapter did make the stations Stronger.

I'm have the same problems with weak signal since I switch from my stock radio. I have a 2000 Audi A4 and it used to have the Symphony 2 Radio in it, which worked perfectly and picked up reception that other cars wouldn't. Now I get some stations and really poor reception. I have the Metra connector (Stock No. 40-EU55) that PJH was refering to in this post. I got it professionally installed but took it out to bypass it and I'm pretty sure the blue wire on the Metra wasn't connected anywhere. Would this cause the problem? If so where do I connect it? TIA!

The blue wire needs to be connected to power.

I had some interesting things happen today with app radio.

In the main window (radio /ipod /apps /phone). If im in ipod i get a pop up saying text message from without the message which is kewl and has been doing this since day one.

But today while using the pioneer app radio app and running any app that would work with it. I was able to get a text message at the top of the screen with persons name and the whole message.

I found this to be very handy.

Disable the alert bypass for now. I already submitted a fix to the repo.

I dont know if its just me but. After installing and using appradio extension I was not able to download any apps from the app store. I removed the appradio extension and I could download apps again.

Yes. I had some good things to say and some bad.

Sorry for the stupid post. I didnt install the power wire for the antenna which was included with new metra antenna wiring harness.

I'm having the same problem with weak or no fm radio signal some times. The app radio is installed in a 2010 Nissan frontier.

I emailed pioneer and this is what they had to say.

possible try connecting a different antenna, alternatively

Could the gps antenna interfere with the fm antenna?

I had the same prolem as you. The display out you are currently using doesn't work.

You need to download a cydia file called TVOut2 Mirror TVOut

Hey just found an updated Backgrounder for IOS5 (January 19 2012).

Please note that it is a patched version of backgrounder for iOS5 and is a BETA. It says to Please use at your own risk.

Im using it on an Iphone 4 with iOS 5.0.1 and its seems to be working very well. I havent tested it with appradio yet.

I just tried it and works great but its only mirroring whats on your screen.
