  1. Um, no. The AVIC-D3 is advertised as HD Radio Ready. This is Pioneer's HD radio solution. Yes, it is an external tuner that has limited function. But if it was an incompatibility, then it wouldn't work in analog, or digital mode either. Now, it is just a sound difference when the tuner switches over to HD. Anybody else have any useful input?
  2. Installed the P20HD. It is working well, however the sound when it switches from FM1 to HD is terrible. The sound on the HD channel is approx 50% lower than the FM1 or analog channel. The sound also seems like the speakers/singers are standing in a hole. The "s" sounds are very harsh and drawn out, the sound is plasticy, and there is an echo type sound. (For all you younger Hi-Fi Harry Potter geeks, it sounds like I am playing AM, out of phase, and the speakers are speaking Parsel-tongue.) Switching from HD1 to FM1 is so noticeable, it is annoying. I'm running RCA cables to an Alpin
  3. OK, been searching. Apparently I *may* have to hook up the Blue wire to the antenna booster power control terminal. Not sure where that is. Is this the switched lead from the car? However, I'm confused. On page 6 of the installation manual, it says "do not connect the blue lead to the power terminal of the antenna control." Then on page 10 it says "if the vehicle has a glass antenna, connect to the antenna booster power control terminal." ???
  4. Not sure what that means, can someone explain it? I have a 2004 Mercedes C32 that I purchased an amplified antenna adapter for. I hooked the power lead on the adapter to a switched 12v source, not the HU. Since the antenna is in the window, I didn't hook up the antenna power lead thinking this was just to make the antenna go up and down. I have a complete aftermarket system. I don't use the stock amp or speakers. New wires ran to the trunk and then to the speakers. I have lousy FM reception. Didn't test the AM reception as I don't every listen to AM.
  5. I'm installing the D3 in my C32. Can anyone tell me where the VSS wire is? Is there a reverse wire in the dash anywhere that I can tap into without having to run a wire to the trunk? Thanks. Tom
