Best thing to do is read all the forums for your problem. It will take a fair amount of research for you to repair the unit but is certainly do-able. Plan on investing considerale time, though. If this seems overwhelming, you can always go to eBay and buy a repair SD card for under $30. There is a seller named kofat who has a good product that I have purchased. My avic unit started having problems and I searched through the forum and read alot of posts. I ended up buying a SD repair/map upgrade card off of eBay. For $27, I couldn't justify spending several more hours working on this in hopes it would turn out OK. The ebay user name is Kofat or punch "avic gps repair" into the search engine. It worked like a charm. Came with 8 pages of color instructions and screenshots for each step. Good luck.
