  1. You can only do a vicinity search, that whole feature alone was why i am getting a Kenwood.
  2. It *might* be possible if your stock radio is a pioneer. I have a Lexus LS400 and the stock radio is a pioneer, there is someone on the Lexus forums who changes something in the circuit board to match the Pioneer head units so that it works.
  3. Can someone tell me how tall that unit is from the bottom of the trim plate to the top of the trim plate? Thanks
  4. Wonderful idea and that is exactly what i'm doing with my LS. I'm building my custom faceplate to be IN far enough from the main dash so i can put up a "dummy" unit. Nice work.
  5. What pretty much seals the deal for me in regards to Kenwood vs. D3 is how each does POIs. Sure, the AVIC has twice as many POIs, but guess what? You don't know how far you from them. They are not sorted in any kind of distance order. All you can do is a "vicinity search." Another great feature is the Kenwood has the option of a QWERTY keyboard. I will say the interface on the Kenwood looks "cartoonish" but oh well, those other things are more important to me. Plus i have to admit that upgrading the Kenwood will be cheaper in the long run. Just my opinion though. I'm going to go
