  1. I have the d3 installed on my e46. I matched the colors to the amber and it looks good. I also changed the splash screen and background to a BMW logo. As far as using a USB drive to load mp3's, I don't know. That's something you can do a search for on the forum. It's unfortunate that you hate apple cuz I bought an Ipod specifically for my car and it works great. I also added the bluetooth phone option instead of using the BMW bluetooth. I've used a Razr, the Motorola MING, and now I am using the Blackberry Pearl and all have worked great. The Pearl has worked the best so far as it trans

  3. Curious if anyone else is having this issue: I am trying to transfer my phonebook on my Razr V3i from Cingular (or the New ATT&T, whatever u want to call it) and when I choose a particular contact to send...it sends my very first contact on my phone list and then lists the first 6 numbers in my phone under the first contact name. So i get one entry (which is not the one I want) and 6 numbers (which not one number is not the one I wanted). My phone automatically connects. My phone is the only phone registered. I can receive calls. I can make calls. Sound quality is excellent on
  4. No, I understand what he was saying. There is no way I was undertaking this project on my own. I am and always will be a newbie on quality installations in whatever car I drive in the future. I left it to guys who do it for a living. In another forum there is step-by-step directions with pictures on how to modify the ac ducts and so on and so forth. Still wouldn't help me. I should have been more specific on my first post as to what help I was looking for. I just had gotten done with an extensive and detailed post on a BMW forum and was running out of time to do it here. And then I com
  5. WOW! Thanks for the support! My guys are far from newbies. I was actually just missing a part number from BMW for the retrofit kit which exists. My car is fully installed in regards to the AVIC-D3 with XM, bluetooth, and I-pod adapter. Saw it today and it looks wonderful. Monday the part comes from BMW which I finally located and then my car is done. My shop said the whole thing was a snap to do and I would have had it after a day if I didn't initially order the wrong retrofit kit. But at least I got a reply from you!

    E46 D3 Install

If you would like detailed information on a double din install for an E46 search http://www.e46fanatics.com/ and you will find a plethora of information and a lot more. Great site! I am getting the D3 installed in my 2001 330i in the next couple weeks. The D3 is in route to my house today. I am also putting in the Pioneer XM box, bluetooth audio, and the I-Pod adapter. I have been thinking long and hard about the steering wheel control unit, but haven't made up my mind since I don't use the steering wheel controls right now. I think the radio is close enough to use my right hand, plus
