  1. Ok, so I've emailed Pioneer, haven't heard back yet... The timezone difference sux, but I'm gonna try and get them on the phone...
  2. This sounds terrible. Your only choice may be to call Pioneer and explain to them what happened, but before you do try hitting the reset button on the back after you turn it on. It probably won't get you any further along, but you never know. Thank you for your service if you're part of an armed forces unit. I've tried Reset too... No luck... Guess I'll give them a call... It's my pleasure, btw. I'm in the Air Force, stationed in Hawaii. Didn't do to bad for my first assignment
  3. I was attempting to update the firmware on the F500BT. Followed the instructions on Pioneer's website. Started the update process, and the unit looked like it was copying files just fine. All of a sudden, it turned off... I waited about 5 mintues or so, hoping it was gonna turn itself back on, but no luck. I turned it back on, and all I get now is the Pioneer startup screen, and then it flashes to a white screen, and powers off. When I go to restart it, it does the same routine again... The Pioneer startup screen, flashes, and then turns off. Won't start flashing, and I've even tried
  4. I've had my D2 installed in my 350z for over 1 year now. Had been working perfectly. All of a sudden, the screen goes blank white, and no audio is coming from the CD in the deck. I power off the car, wait a minute, then power back on. There is power going to the unit, as all of the buttons are lighting, and you can tell that the screen is on, but it doesn't power up. Nothing comes over the display, and no other functions are working. Seemed a little hotter to the touch, than normal. Manufacturer's warranty expired back in April. Didn't buy the extended warranty from Circuit C
  5. Make sure that the file name, and extension is in ALL CAPS. Apparently this makes a difference, at least in my D2. When I burned a copy of the disc, to add custom wallpapers, and the file name was in lowercase, the unit didn't see the files at all.
  6. I just bought a copy of CNDV-70M off of Ebay. CNDV-60M came with my D2. What's the difference between 60 and 70? Seems like the maps are the same. For example, a couple roads that I know differ from the map in 60, are still not updated in 70. The Pioneer boot screen looks nicer, and is more up-to-date, but nothing else that I can see. Thanks.
  7. I pressed and held "AV" and "INFO" and pressed the little Reset button under the SOURCE button, and it unlocked the drive. Thanks. Everything works now. Just gotta make a new copy of the East Coast CD, cause it's got some heat-damage to it, so it's hard to use sometimes.
  8. Thanks for the fast response. I tried what you suggested, but when I touch the MAP button it goes to a white screen that says "Please Insert the Appropriate Disc". I can't change the disc, for 2 reasons, 1) Circuit City hasn't given mine to me yet, and 2) the one in the drive won't eject. CC said it was "locked". I also get this same response when I press DEST, INFO, or any other button related to the NAV system.
  9. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. I recently purchased a D2 from Circuit City, open-box. It was the display unit, so I got it for a pretty good price. My problem is, they didn't know how to take the Nav out of "Demo mode" and there's a disc locked in the DVD ROM drive. Anybody know how to remove the Demo Mode? They told me it's so that customers can see how the nav worked, but also prevented thieves from using it, if they stole it. They were supposed to call and let me know, but they still haven't yet. I've tried contacting Pioneer, but haven't heard from them either.
