  1. Hello everyone, I just had an AppRAIDO 3 installed in my car to be used with an Iphone 5. I have all the correct cables and everything is hooked up correctly. The only issue I have is when I connect the iphone 5 the Ipod app on the radio is grayed out. Is there a setting I've missed? Am I the only one with this issue? I did do a search and didn't find any information on this. Can any one help me with this. Everything else on the radio is working as is should.

  2. I have a question for all the forum members. I have the Pioneer AppRadio 2 and it has never displayed the "AppRadio Welcome Animation". Other than that I'm very happy with the radio. My Question: Is there a way to turn this on and off, or a way to trick the AR2 into playing the animation? What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for any help on this.

  3. Since you got it off EBay, you will need to contact Pioneer. I don't know of an aftermarket video cable that works 100% with the appradio. Just tell Pioneer your AppRadio model and that your Iphone audio\video cable has broken. You may be able to get another under warrenty I you Ebay guy is an authorized reseller. But chances are you will have to pay for it.....

It will fix your white screen.........Good luck.

  4. A friend of mine has a 1st gen in his Challenger. I did this on his and it worked. In this order.

Start your car and your AR1, wait about 15 seconds.

Start the Pioneer AppRadio App on your Iphone and connect the cable. Wait on the AR1 and Iphone to sync up.

    Click allow on your Iphone

Tap the App Icon on the radio. Then open YouTube on your Iphone.

Now unplug the cable to your Iphone then plug it back in, and click allow.

If you need to, tap the app icon on the radio again.......at this point go back to YouTube on your Iphone and start your video

Click allow again if ask, your video should start.

I'm also wondering if the pictures in your camera roll show up on your Radio screen when you go into the pictures on your AR1?

If they do, you can play any movies you have on your phone from here.

Just move any movies on your Iphone to your Camera Roll, Go back to the Pictures app on your AR1. Click allow on your Iphone.

Then tap the movie on the screen of your AR1 the movie will open. Tap the Play > arrow on the screen and the movie will start.

These were the steps on my friends setup. This should work for you. The order on your setup might be slightly different. Anyway this should work for you, unless you have a bad cable. (you must use the cable that came with the radio to play videos, no extention cables).

    I hope this helps.

  5. Anything is possible when it comes the firmware upgrades. But here is the thing. If an upgrade comes out that doesn't add a feature I need or fix a bug I'm having an issue with I don't have to do it. Also I went with the relay at the time because it is hidden and I wanted a clean install.

If for some reason the relay stops working on my setup, I'll start using the button some other people are using and try to hide it in an easy to get to place.

It really comes down to what works best for you, there really isn't any right or wrong way to add your bypass feature.

  6. I'm just wondering, you can't play videos in motion, or you can't play videos at all?

I have the 3 wire relay bypass on my APPRADIO 2 and it works great. This is what I do to play videos:

On your phone open Netflix or YouTube and start the video. (Netflix and YouTube both have built in Mirroring, so this will work without making any setting changes on your phone)

Then from where ever you are on the AppRadio go to the home screen and tap the Apps icon. Don't touch anything eles on your radio.

When it comes up on your phone, tap Allow and in just a couple secounds the video will start playing on your AppRadio screen.

If your relay is wired correctly, the video will continue to play once your car is in motion.

Sorry about the long post, but I hope this helps.

  7. The only real issue I've had with the AR2 is the screen blackout linked to Pandora. I think this is actually a Pandora problem and not the AR2. I haven't noticed this problem with any other app.

The AR2 also seems to work much better if I start the car and turn on the AR2, then start the APP Radio APP on my Iphone and then connect the cable.

I also purchased the $10 gadget on Ebay to enable video in motion, this works great with no issues at all.

For what its worth I have a 4S with IOS 5.1 NOT jailbroke. And all the other APP's that I've tried have worked great for me.

What are your latest issues with the AR2?

  8. The reason I wanted to know is because spec wise the differences between the Appradio 1 and 2 are Screen size, "2' is larger, "2" has two set of RCA outs instead of just one, and the "1' has a SD card slot and the "2' does not, the "2" has a 5 band EQ and the "1' has a 12 band EQ. Other than those four differences the specs are the same. I was wondering if the "2" was running the same fimeware as the current version on the "1". Do you know if it is? Do you know the version of the firmware on the "2:? Do you know how to find it on the radio? Thanks for any help you can provide.
