Ill check tonight after work and post my results

I bought my headunit through Crutchfield last month, its still on 1.01, I get the feeling that I should remain on this version of firmware as I have no issues and I use Android Auto, which it seems 1.05 is creating issues with AA

FYI, the new nex (8200 nex etc.) units offer OBDII gauges and climate controls......herbert68, I guess you won't have your solution from iDatalink. As far as I know there is a huge gap between them and Pioneer. One example of this is the lack of gauges on any NEX unit.
Pioneer anounces the features and iDatalink claims that they don't implement....

The best thing to do is to register and post on their forum.
Because I guess your central display feature depends on the headunit to send the phone data and the RR to handle it.

what do you mean???? I ordered mine from a reputable stereo shop, received it, installed it myself with no issues, whats this trap you speak of? lolNot a fan of iDataLink, since they don't cater to do-it-yerself'ers, instead you've got to go through a dealer. That's the kind of trap I never ever want to fall into.

I really hope we can update to use the idatalink features, I had a Kenwood that offered this and loved the features, it was to be able to read CEL codes and clear them from the headunit, the real time tire pressure readings were nice too

so this stops the unit from seeing 12v until after the car is started Im guessing?I have solved with this http://www.phonocar.it/it/accessori-autoradio/accessori-elettrici/convertitori-e-riduttori-di-tensione/stabilizzatore-di-tensione-12v/05146.html
It is a gap in start up of 12 v

this is odd, I just installed my 8100 and Im having this same issue!!!! its happened about 10-12 times since I installed it nearly 2 weeks ago.......
-
the additional idatalink features are actually huge for those of us that have the ability to use them, I was running a Kenwood dnx890hd in my 2011 Mustang with the Maestro rr module, and their MUS1 dash panel with integrated climate controls and OBDII data which was amazing, I just didnt like the Kenwood, so I stepped up to the 8100nex, but I lost the climate controls and OBDII data, which now the 8200 has, Im kinda pissed now! but I couldnt be happier with the 8100nex over the Kenwood, I just dont get all the bitching some members do, the Pioneer is far and away better than any Kenwood offerings imo

The only concern is whether or not the Sony and Pioneer mics have the same frequency response. If the sony mic "hears" differently then you'll basically be running auto EQ with an "uncalibrated" microphone.
It's worth a shot, but if the results sound funny, it might be worth it to try the Pioneer mic.
yeah true, I may just wait, but as you said, cant hurt to try I guess
Actually it was an Onkyo mic, worked just fine for me,made an very noticeable improvement in sound.
thanks!

As long at it plugs into a standard AUX jack, then yes it will work.
thank you, I will try it after work this evening and report back
-
Yea,tried it with my 8000nex using the mic that came with my home theatre receiver.Worked just fine and the results are much improved sound, worked well for me.
was it a Pioneer mic? I have the mic that came with my Sony home theater receiver, would it work>
-
well firstly, did you move the mute wire to the correct location?
-
mine is on the bottom side of my rearview mirror, offset to the drivers side, Im told it sounds clear...........
-
I have a Sony mic that came with my home theater receiver and it worked perfectly
-
^^ thats good stuff there
-
yeah just saw that last night as I decided to read up a bit on the issueAccording to the manual you should put it on the driver's head rest.
yup, I taped my Sony mic to the drivers head rest and about 5 minutes later the calibration was complete.I stuck mine to the headrest and left it to it, takes 5 minutes. Just replaced the Porsche front speakers with Alpines so I need to run it again.

I have the mic that came with my Sony home theater receiver, I guess the mic gets placed in the center of the cabin for best results

this is not an issue for me man, I had AA active, was listening to the radio, sent my wife a text, it went back to the radio after sending the text, it did however stay on the home AA screen, I had to manually navigate to the radio screen using mode
