  1. this is not an issue for me man, I had AA active, was listening to the radio, sent my wife a text, it went back to the radio after sending the text, it did however stay on the home AA screen, I had to manually navigate to the radio screen using mode

  2. herbert68, I guess you won't have your solution from iDatalink. As far as I know there is a huge gap between them and Pioneer. One example of this is the lack of gauges on any NEX unit.

Pioneer anounces the features and iDatalink claims that they don't implement....

FYI, the new nex (8200 nex etc.) units offer OBDII gauges and climate controls......

The best thing to do is to register and post on their forum.

Because I guess your central display feature depends on the headunit to send the phone data and the RR to handle it.

  4. Not a fan of iDataLink, since they don't cater to do-it-yerself'ers, instead you've got to go through a dealer. That's the kind of trap I never ever want to fall into.

what do you mean???? I ordered mine from a reputable stereo shop, received it, installed it myself with no issues, whats this trap you speak of? lol
  5. the additional idatalink features are actually huge for those of us that have the ability to use them, I was running a Kenwood dnx890hd in my 2011 Mustang with the Maestro rr module, and their MUS1 dash panel with integrated climate controls and OBDII data which was amazing, I just didnt like the Kenwood, so I stepped up to the 8100nex, but I lost the climate controls and OBDII data, which now the 8200 has, Im kinda pissed now! but I couldnt be happier with the 8100nex over the Kenwood, I just dont get all the bitching some members do, the Pioneer is far and away better than any Kenwood offerings imo

  6. The only concern is whether or not the Sony and Pioneer mics have the same frequency response. If the sony mic "hears" differently then you'll basically be running auto EQ with an "uncalibrated" microphone.

It's worth a shot, but if the results sound funny, it might be worth it to try the Pioneer mic.

yeah true, I may just wait, but as you said, cant hurt to try I guess

Actually it was an Onkyo mic, worked just fine for me,made an very noticeable improvement in sound.

    thanks!

  7. According to the manual you should put it on the driver's head rest.

yeah just saw that last night as I decided to read up a bit on the issue

I stuck mine to the headrest and left it to it, takes 5 minutes. Just replaced the Porsche front speakers with Alpines so I need to run it again.

yup, I taped my Sony mic to the drivers head rest and about 5 minutes later the calibration was complete.
