  1. kagronick did it! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31310915&postcount=128
  2. No kidding! It's looking like shortly we'll actually have working decks again. Well worth the bounty if it delivers, I threw him a portion of what I promised, might be able to beta test the app or something to help out.
  3. kagronick over on XDA has had a breakthrough!!!!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31253970&postcount=114
  4. There's no issue with JB, you can't have any issues if you can't even attach the thing... It's been so long I've practically forgotten that this deck has advanced features at all.. Pioneer has until the first decent full vanilla Android OS deck comes out, then I abandon ship. Sadly until then I still think this thing is my best option right now...
  5. The only way to know for sure is to open the deck up and check the Bluetooth chip. But what's the point in even doing that if Pioneer has no intention of adding the feature anyways. Unless we can find some devs to crack this thing wide open. To me it seems like a common sense feature to have. If you don't plug in your phone, the deck should still have some options available to it instead of just being a $500.00 radio. I really don't care whether thats Bluetooth audio, or USB audio... I don't want to always be forced to plug in just to use it... I got around the problem by throwing a ipod a
  6. I believe that is completely possible with a little programming and firmware update. Pioneer seems to have gone out of its way to create something that screams potential but underwhelms in every category.
  7. It just isn't accepting it. Wifi dongles work fine...
  8. Well this idea has to be put on hold. People can't get bluetooth dongles working with it, so without that there's no touch control... Hopefully someone will figure it out
  9. Possibly, far as I know the sticks have a lot more horsepower under the hood. 1ghz cpu, 500mhz gpu, 1gb ram, 4gb rom. Not spectacular specs but enough to get the job done...
  10. More then I got... Promised callback never happened... No email replies either... Pioneer Canada didn't even know the Nexus was compatible.
  11. Just an idea I have been looking into. I picked up a AK802 just to play with: http://dx.com/p/ak802-mini-android-4-0-network-media-player-w-wi-fi-hdmi-tf-usb-black-4gb-1gb-ddr-iii-143431 Dedicated HDMI output, it doesn't have Bluetooth but can use usb Bluetooth dongles to add the feature. USB memory sticks can be added, as well micro sd up to 32gb. Runs off usb power, so it can stay in the glove box all the time. It can be tethered for internet apps yet be just as happy running stand alone... I still need to find out if it's possible to attach your phone Bluetooth for phone duties,
  12. Yah, you have to be rooted. I run glitch on my captivate and plan on running it on my Nexus when the open kang project gets a stable 4.1 release.
  13. I did a test a couple weeks back running waze for a 3 hour trip. Plugged in I still lost 75% of my battery by the time my trip was over. That was just the phone screen on and gps running. If the deck and MHL pulls more power then it will be even worse...
  14. From what I've read Its a feature of Android. The phones limit themselves to 500ma when on usb (or mhl) and allow 1amp on AC. Custom kernals remove this limit and allow the phone to take whatever limit up to 1amp. No idea if this is universal or on a phone to phone basis... I plan on installing a glitch kernal if and when Pioneer ever allows my Nexus back on the deck.
  15. Pm me your email address and I can email it to you.
  16. THANK GOD!!!! I won't hold my breath, I may not make it...
  17. I run an ipod attached to the apple plug and then run my Nexus (when it worked on 4.0.4) through mhl / bluetooth. Hopefully Pioneer will hurry up and get the Nexus's working again...
  18. The topic on XDA hasn't been updated but there is a few hundred more on top of that total for someone that succeeds at this. I wish I could help but I'd only be able to be a beta tester.
  19. Claims minor UI changes, as well as firmware update notifications. Haven't tested it yet but the lack of noted fixed / new features isn't encouraging...
  20. Sadly it most likely just needs a good wipe and reflash. But if Pioneer won't give people the tools to do this themselves then your only hope is to get it replaced or dealt with by Pioneer itself.
  21. It is possible the update was bad. Did you re-download the firmware and try again or just kept trying the same downloaded file?. Is it possible to downgrade the firmware? See if that helps.
  22. Installed it. Phone connected easy enough to the MHL adaptor, but then I never seemed to have much problem syncing the phone to the deck in the first place. Still nothing after the initial calibration screen on 4.1. Wasn't expecting it to work but had to give it a shot.
  23. The camera I purchased has night mode with IR led backup. Is the camera settings adjustable? I haven't played with it yet, hoping to have a cooler day to do the wiring.
  24. Visions couldn't do the update, couldn't figure out how to do it. I already had the update installed already any ways so no big deal. I'll be installing my camera next week so will see shortly if it works ok.
  25. Sounds like possibly the only plan that will get them to listen. I have been emailing/ rating / calling myself. They are setting a bad precedent in saying its android compatible and then making such a mess out of it. How do they plan on selling more of these if the only impression on the net is they barely work. So much potential, thus far wasted potential.
