  1. Has anyone had issues where one day, they could no longer get any maps to display on their D3?

I have the West Region 90MT disc via SWDW / Mike. Everything was fine for a month - and this morning, the map display died. Radio, iPod, Steering Wheel control work - just cannot get any map to ever come up.

I did a reset of the entire nav unit (ball point pen next to the eject button), removed and re-inserted the disc - but I can never get the nav system to ever display a map.

When I do the ball point pen reset of the unit (90MT disc is in the unit) - it tells me it is checking the disc and then I get a quick Pioneer splashscreen. It then tells me that it's trying to switch to memory mode and that it may take 30 seconds - and I wait several minutes and no luck.

I still have my original 80MT Pioneer disc. Should I try to revert back to that disc to determine if I have a disc issue or a DVD-ROM / laser issue?

    What's the process to go from SWDW's 90MT back to Pioneer's 80MT?

    Thanks guys.

    Brent

I have been having this problem also. It would not work and I would have to shut the truck off and restart. Then it would work. On saturday it started making noise in the disk drive. I thought maybe my AVIC was breaking down. By the end of the day it did not work at all and kept saying insert appropriate disk. I tried the west disk and it did not work and made noise. I went to best buy looking for a new unit. I then looked closer at the disk and it was splitting. My east disk is now in 2 pieces. I ended up ordering the disks from pioneer. I downgraded to the old discs and it works fine. Check your disc from SWDW and see if it is splitting.

  2. There will probably be a whole lot more 2007 disks available once the new updated 2008 disks come out... sometime this month, or so Pioneer is telling us.

If you go to pioneer parts it used to say the disks were bacordered. Now it says temporarly out ETA 10/13/08. I hope that is not true.

  3. I am not sure if I understand your problem completly, but I am going to base it off of what I remember with my N3. I never had a need for my unit bypassed. I did not want to watch movies while driving, or enter a address. I then got the Navtraffic and noticed that all the icons were grayed out. I found that you had to be stopped with the parking brake on. I thought that was crazy. I wanted to see the traffic problems in my area without having to plot a route. So I bypassed my unit for that reason. Is your D3 unit bypassed?

  4. In my truck I found a wire that had 12 volts when in reverse. When I got my camera I hooked it up to that and it did not work. I had the same problem as you. I worked on it for hours until I figured it out. The wire that I found with 12 volts did not have enough power for the camera. When I checked the voltage at the camera I had 12 volts. When I pugged it in it dropped to 3. I just guess that the circuit could not handle enough amps to run the camera. I got the same results as you. With the camera unplugged it would show a black screen. With the camera plugged in it would act like it was not in reverse. What I did was cut into the wire going to the camera and pull out the power wire. I then spliced it to the actual wire going to the reverse light. That gave it enough power to run.

  5. Hello,

I have an N3 and just got the navtraffic receiver. I currently have the Ipod adaptor hooked up. Do you have to daisy chain this in a certain order? Right now it goes from the hide away unit to the ipod adaptor. Can I go right to that or does the Xm unit have to go first?

  6. Myself, bobmun, and several other members have purchased from this seller. He sells on eBay, but ships out immediately and the price for the backup cam is right :)

No need for the $400 Pio cam you were contemplating.

Do you have to do any cutting to your plate for this one? I have seen some cameras that you have to notch your plate and I do not want to have to do that. Also, is it a ccd camera?

    Thanks

  7. For the PSD, it is pin 58 at the PCM (Grey/Black). If you have the Overhead console, you can grab it at the passenger kick panel. It is Pin 10 there (same color). It is also in the GEM on pin 18 right behind the fuse panel. I'd imagine it would be easiest to take a 10mm socket and remove the connector on the back of the fuse panel and tap into one of the GY/Bk wires (pins 21, 22, or 14). They are all the same VSS signal.

I have a 2004 with a n3 in it and have no problems with the speed pulse.

  8. funk dat.. it's too hott to chill and USPS Priority Mail is a guaranteed service of no more then 3 days... I have the right to bitch.

I just called the post office to make sure I was right earlier in my post about the priority thing. They told me that it could take up to 14 days to recieve a priority package. If you go to their website it states that priority packages are delivered in 2 to 3 days on average.

Really? Well don't bitch at me. I already have quite a few messages thanking me! Why dont you check your tracking number and see that I "supposedly" shipped it on the 24. Go bitch at your mailman for being too lazy to take out all his mail to deliver every day:

2:41PM it was shipped at the Post Office on Tuesday. Thanks for being a jerk.

I would not worry about what he has to say. It is not your fault. It is just that the USPS sucks. I am one state over and I still did not get mine. I went and complained to the post office. It is useless though, they always say "It is not guaranteed to be here in 3 days." My mom takes medication to prevent siezures. She has her meds shipped here. Last week she ran out of medicine because it took 2 weeks to ship priority. This is the main reason why everyone tries to do things by email.

Sorry , I just had to vent.

Thanks for sending these out though.

  10. On my 2004 I picked it up at the switch. I am unsure of the color. I just used a multi-tester and checked it. You have to use the switched side. Just check one side with the parking brake off. Ground one lead of the tester and put the other on one wire if you get continuity then check the other wire. That should be the wire to tap into. You should only get continuity on that wire with the parking brake on.

  11. I wonder if these are really out. I emailed them last week and they told me it would be the middle of August. I then went to see what was different from the 60 series to the 70 and now there is a link saying the 70's will be out in auguston the 60's link. It lets you put in your email to be updated when the arrive.

  12. Thanks for the reply. I was hoping it was just a software glitch. This will probably get interesting. I bought it off an electronic dealer on ebay. When I bought it, it came with a one year warranty through the dealer, since pioneer does not like people selling things on ebay.

  13. Well I reset it. That did not fix it. The only thing is it did not load up like it was new. I lost all my locations that I had stored, but the sensor learning is stll there. Can anyone help? I do not want to have to send it back. When you send it back, must you send all the wiring? I would hate to have to rip the whole truck apart.

  14. My first post, but have been looking around here since I ordered my N3 in March.

I just started having a problem today. I have only had this unit for maybe 3 weeks. I just got in the truck a little while ago to move it. I usually keep the display closed. When I looked down at it the display was all screwed up. I could not read it at all. It was like all the leds in the read out were lit up. When I change it to show the station being played it shows up fine. It will just not show the clock right. I did not notice if it was working right earlier, but the only thing I did to it today was put a custom background on it. Does anyone know how to fix this? Do I try to reset it?

    Thanks.
