1. Has any one else run into this? I've had my AVIC for about 2 months, all firmware and patches are up to date, unhacked, and everything runs fine except for the hands free. it will send and receive calls no problem, the person on the other end sounds fine but they complain that there is a lot of static and I sound very broken and choppy. I've tested it with two different phones just to make sure it wasn't that. Any suggestions?
2. Interesting... I think the Garmin might be the way to go especially if I can load Topo maps. Sorry to hear about you not existing in the world according to Pioneer.
3. I'm about to get one of these for my Forester but I'm struggling with whether or not to get one for my Sequoia. We've recently spent most of the summers looking at the backcountry 4x4 roads and has anyone seen how good the maps are for these? If not I'm leaning towards a Garmin 478... -j
4. *** Disregard all my previous amp questions *** If I could learn to read I'd be better off. Since you went through what I'm about to - what wiring harness did you buy? I'm not going the external amp option since I won't need it for the Z1. Thanks for not flaming the noob. -j
5. Excellent site! Instead of getting the Toyota Factory NAV from OEMValue due to it's non-bluetooth and pricey accessories... I'm looking at getting a Z1. I have the JBL Amp (woohoo Ebay) but what of the rest of the installation? Has anyone done a Toyota/JBL install? Further, I've read a few reviews about "incredibly" long bootup times. Now this is relative, but from an Factory vs Aftermarket has anyone noticed it and what the times are? Is it 15secs, 1min, 5min? Did this effect GPS re-aquisition? I had a car computer (full blown WinXP and 7" LCD in my dash so I know about longer boot
6. EDROCK I'm buying an 02 Seq Ltd with the JBL setup. I was looking at the factory NAV unit - www.oemvalue.com - but didn't like the prices on the iPod control and the lack of bluetooth. I know I have to get the JBL Amp - is there anything else you did that I should be looking at?
