  1. To use the CDSR100, I think you're going to need to wire in an IR receiver to the appradio. There is one aftermarket one that works with Pioneer - PAC WRI-P for $30 or so. Not sure what functions will work with the appradio. The receiver indicates that cursor control is possible with a joystick, as some of the Pioneer square remotes have a joystick. You're going to need to try this and report back to us.
  2. There are no distros for Appradio that I know of. You'd have to download the kernel source, configure it for MIPS (or whatever CPU is in the appradio), and use the updater or JTAG tool to flash it. The touch screen and many other components that are unique to the appradio would need custom drivers. Then you'd have to figure out how the tuner and preamp outputs are controlled, which might be very difficult without schematics. Ir would probably be easier to build a custom CarPC from scratch that hack the appradio to run Linux with all the custom stuff on the headunit.
