Any luck on an East disc?

It probably cost $350 after everything. I got all the parts new from Volvo, but at least it's right now. I mean I didn't hack the bezel to bits a little saw made two super clean cuts and done.

Wasn't able to get anything back basically heard it would have been a waste of time from some people in the local government. I guess this has happened before.

It took a year because I had to replace the glove box, the bezel and I just kind of did it all in my spare time. I should have done the install myself in the first place, but sometimes you just want to pay for a professional service. I'll have to get a better picture of the finished product.

Here is a pic of the final product. It's crappy I took it with my cell, but the mounting kit did wonders for me, it's centered and flesh with everything.

Two problems: no speed sensor wire and when I make a right turn the speakers crackle...

So if you are heading to Canada you can use the maps that came with the unit?

Will it make the interface on the D3 any better?

The alerts only come on the station you hear the song on, for example, you hear "Stronger" by Kayne West on Sirius Hits Channel 1, it will only prompt you to "jump" to that song if it is being played on channel 1.

BBB was kind of a waste as their ruling was to let him fix it. I returned the car to him again and he was like what's wrong with it?

Needless to say I left. And have done the work myself which I should have done myself as the wiring in my car is hacked to bits, there is no amp bypass and a pile full of screws.

I did complete the video bypass which was beyond easy, just soldering a few wires.

I'm looking for the double DIN cage to center the unit up in the housing.

Also, looking for the VSS wire (it wasn't hooked up and I'm going on a fairly long trip in about 2 weeks and want to be accurate) for the 91 940se Volvo, if anyone might be able to help at all.

If anyone is interested I can take some pics.

I do, I have the Sirius lifetime, but saw it in the manual, because there is one show I can't get on satellite.

I guess I need to acquire the double din kit from pioneer first before I let him get into it, I'm also going to see if he actually put a part in to bypass the amp.

I was paging through the manual along with the site and the manual shows a text button for the radio to get the name of the song while listening to terrestial radio, but the text button does not appear, is there a setting somewhere I am missing?

Well, he got his letter from the BBB today actually, he called and left me a voicemail. He said he knew I wasn't happy and wants to get it in to make it right, do I accept the offer? Do I bring him these posts still?

So far, here is what is happening. I filed a complaint with the BBB and I'm just waiting to see what kind of response they get from the business. If he doesn't respond I'll be taking him to small claims court.

Pulled out the receipts to see what the part was that he ordered it was a VOVL-AL-1 possibly by Metra, I can't read his writing for $75. Receipt also says No Cash Refunds Store Credit Only, No Refunds on Labor.

I thought it would have been an easy job, what parts do I need?

Do I let him attempt to repair it, to be honest I'm afraid he's going to make it worse. When I dropped off the car I left detailed instructions along with a Chilton manual (so he could find the VSS wire) and it's like he ignored it all. He keeps brining up that there is a gyro in the D3 that prevents video from driving and I told him he needed to ground the mute wire, he acted surprised and I was like I told you that, it wasn't like other AVICs.

Thanks for the info guys, found some more half assed stuff the I will post pictures of soon, I don't think I'm going to let him fix it. I think its off to court and to get some estimates.

If there is anyone in the Pittsburgh area who would want to attempt to fix this I would consider it.

Can you take a pic of the whole dash. If it's the cara I think it is, the parts are fairly cheap t do it right, and the pioneer double din cage and trim ring would have worked fine.

You definately got screwed. How does a person even accept money for work like that? This is one of the reasons why I love sites like these. It makes it possible for a person to do there own install and have it look how you want it to look.

Yeah I was hoping to do that but Volvos are so goofy with their wiring and I knew I was going to need a custom bezel that I decided to go to a shop.

He super glued the trim piece that comes with it on there.

I just got back from the shop and I felt bad because there were several other people there and he asked what was up and I told him I wasn't happy.

I said you busted my glovebox, and you super glued the trim on it, for $500 I was expecting a lot better, he was like well the trim piece was what it came with, I said I understand but it didn't cover everything and you could see a huge gap, I told him I was expecting a custom faceplate.

I don't know if I should let him fix it or just take it to court.
