Thank you let me know. It would be great if you can update the main difference between the z150 and z140 according to your personal experience. I have iphone 5 also. I am thinking about to upgrade now. The things I don't like about the z140 (brake bypass): 1. less map detail 2. The vechicle icon can not position correct (not on the route) once in a while. 3. You can not find the address in your saved POI except the name. 4. Does not work with iphone 5 for the internet app.

I read through the installation maunal for z150, it is very similiar to z140 except has HDMI connector on the back. The bypass for z140 should work. You can wait a little bit if you feel uncomfortable to do this now since it just came out. Not many people have this unit yet. I am curious: Do you upgrade your HU every year since you already have z140?

Right, It is better for you do the bypass, so you can change the setting anytime you want!

You should have done the bypass on the AVIC-z140. It is easy to do and without suffering sound quality.

I would say it worh $10 if it works and you feel more comfortable this way. The simple way is to wire the empty plug on top the yellow mute wire to ground (black). No need to buy the kit next time. Enjoy your new HU! Mine is AVIC_z140bh.

I feel your pain, CPJD. Can't the installer just swipe a new Z140 for you since they are authorized Pioneer dealer for 30 years? The new z150 is almost twice the price of z140 now. I don't think pioneer will give you the new z150. By the way, are you located in Canada? I will test the GPS versus my Garmin 1390LMT unit in my summer trip to Yellowstone National park. I will update the info. Some people complain the Navigation of this unit, It works fine for me localy, just less map details.

I just installed a AVIC-Z140 in my 06 Sienna XLE by myself with by pass of brake wire. It works fine and did not have problem with what you mentioned. What kind of vehicle was this unit installed? I really suspect the ability of these installer. This is my first try to install Navigation in automobiles. I have to say, it is very simple, especially for experienced installers. The map does show less detail compared to my Garmin 1390, but I have not experienced any problem with it yet. You can not blame the pioneer for Blackberry connectivity but Blackberry.
