  1. Thanks i might do that. to see how much it would cost because everytime i go there to check prices their ridiculously overpriced. a z2 unit is like 1800 and z3 is around 2200. and i DID replace ALL my console light, its on page 4 http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2571095/4
  2. yea i know, but i have been doing stereo installations as well as other A/V electronics for about 7 years. but everyone has bad days. if your replacing the bulbs on the CLUSTER LIGHTs my cardomain might help you. i did it myself for my blazer, check it out and tell me what you think. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2571095/6
  3. well if i dont get to exchange unit, then ill have to save up to send it to pioneer, repairs are $200 it sucks but at least its not like buying the unit all over again
  4. Thanks for the reply. it definetly has to be a blown circuit because my rca's are fairly new, and i made sure nothing was touching when i installed it. i know what you mean when you said everything is crammed in. but i didnt have the radio IN its slot when i was trying to figure out what was wrong. im going to do the hard reset and HOPE that it works. if it doesnt ima try and get either a repair or exchange from the person i bought it from.(ebay). wont be easy... and if THAT doesnt work, ima try and repair it myself, i have pretty good soldering skills. you think it would be hard finding the
  5. Reading your post it's hard to figure out what you did. From what I gather you: 1. Installed your Z1 in YOUR car. Worked fine. 2. Uninstalled your Z1 from your car and re-installed in your brothers car? 3. Touched the 12+ from the car to the Z1's ground wire? 4. Re-installed the unit in YOUR car, and now the subwoofer OUTPUTS (you said inputs, but there is no sub-in on the unit) creates a humm. In a subsequent post you said you're not using the RCA's, correct? So you are using the violet and violet/black wires for sub signal and those are directly wired to the sub with no external am
  6. OH YEA, and everything ELS works fine. the only thing i havnt tried was the Preamp RCA's which is in the same harness as the subwoofer inputs. that probably doesnt work also hugh?
  7. yea i know, even if the volume is ALL the way down, subs still make loud humming "MONOTONE" sound. what do you mean reset? is there a hard reset button? would this might work?
  8. yea i know, i turned the subwoofer ON and still did same thing, and when i turned it off , BASS was still humming. im more than sure its not the settings.
  9. yea i know they said they could fix it but i would have to pay $200 service charge. but i was hoping someone here might have had the same problem and fixed it some other way. if anybody knows, can they please walk me through it.
  10. Hello, first off IM NEW HERE. i just got my avic-z1 about a month ago, i installed it fine with the bypassed wires and everything was fine. but i then i was testing out something in my brothers car when all the sudden the 12v constant wire touched the ground wire, and the cars FUSE burned after we replaced it, it seems that the subwoofer OUTPUTS dont work anymore. all i hear is MONOTONE bass that doesnt bump or do anything. i got the unit off ebay as factory refurbished so i called pioneer customer support and they couldnt do anything because EBAY isnt a authorized pioneer dealer. PLEASE
  11. (im new to this by the way and read this whole thread) IM KIND OF GETTING WAY AHEAD OF MYSELF but if this ever completed, you guys should make 2 PACKETS for download(torrents would be best) THE 1ST would be ment for z1 users updating to z2 software STILL with z1 bypass(using 2 grounds, or the flashing headlights). The 2ND would be ment for Z2 users DOWNgrading to z1 bypass(using 2 grounds, or the flashing headlights). am i right or wrong? or still WAY ahead of myself, lol[/b]
