  1. The side glance to a nav monitor is much quicker then looking down near my shifter for information, etc. As for the Garmin, I have seen them and I am very unimpressed and they don't use the XM nav traffic, as far as I know. Hence my interest in the Pioneer navs.
  2. Hmmm, ok. I thought it might be. However, if I wanted to make the monitor a touchscreen, I would need to be able to send data to and from the brain...a technical challenge.
  3. Also, what kind of video out jacks does it have. If anyone happens to have a decent picture of the rear of the unit, please post it. Thanks.
  4. Thanks for replying Mr. Smartass I have never seen the back of the unit, probably because the photos I have seen have sucked. I was thinking of putting a screen on top the dash, right about the vents on my 03 TL. I just have to find a screen.
  5. I wanted to find out if there was a way to hook up an additional video monitor to an N3? The screen on the N3 is nice, however, due to the location of the HU in my car, I would need to take my eyes off the road to use the nav unit, which is not a good idea.
  6. Damn. I could remove the double din Bose radio & cd changer combo and put it in there, but I don't like the idea of having to look down at the nav vs looking to the right when driving. I should have gotten one without the nav. If I did, I would still be driving around Georgia looking for the on-ramp.
  7. I am considering getting a Z2 in my 03 TL to replace my OEM Nav unit. The OEM unit has one feature I haven't seen mentioned here, the ability to control the A/C functions. There are separate controls under the nav forcold, heat, rear defrost and front defrost, however, in the OEM unit, you have the ability to chose where the heat/cold is blowing (feet, feet & chest, chest, etc.) as well as the fan speed. Can the Z2 do this? Or would I am I SOL? Thanks
  8. Hi- I am looking to replace my OEM navigation unit with a Z2 and put it in the same spot in the dash. I will not be removing my OEM Bose stereo. has anyone done this? I called a local installer and he said they could do it for $250 for the install and $150 for some fiberglass kit (I guess so the unit fits in that spot?) I want it in the same spot so that the screen is relatively at eye level. And I want to go with the Z2 so I can get the traffic nav features. If someone has had it done or has done it themselves, please post some pics. Thanks!
