  1. Attached is the updated XM Logo Generator program. This release contains the updated raw logos and default channel mapping for the July 2011 logo update. This program takes raw 32-bit transparent PNG logo images by channel number and size and automatically converts them into the special formats used by the various AVIC units. It handles all of the dirty work involving color conversion, handling of special transparent colors and backgrounds specific to each AVIC series, and generation of RGB 555 Bitmap files and/or PIM formatted files with the appropriate LPS/DPS numbered filename. 2. Here are the updated logo image packs for July 2011. If you wish to make a donation for this effort my paypal is vandal@racinginc.com. This is not a requirement as I will never charge money for these logo updates nor make conditions regarding their use. Changes/Improvements/Issues: - Image table and logo updates for all July 2011 XM lineup changes. - A logo was manually created for BYU Radio channel 143 which does not appear in the channel guide PDF. - A station called "LeakyCon Radio" just appeared today at channel 141. That is some 3 day Harry Potter convention deal so there
  3. That will help people for that unit until I can re-run the image extraction. In order to get the maximum size images in the best quality and preserve transparency across all logos and all AVIC units, I have to remove all the text and graphics from the PDF except the logos pull 319 PNG images of it in increment ranges between 60 DPI to 1100 DPI. That step is still manuall unfortunately, click...enter DPI...save... 319 times. After that I can run my program that finds the largest DPI logo that will fit for every series size.
  4. Yep, I see it in the new channel guide PDF..they changed those darned commercial stations again. I will have to run a new logo extract and put an updated release out.
  5. XM does not provide category logos and so there is only what Pioneer provides and they did not make a logo for all the categories.
  6. On #1, I'll check out the KISS channel tonight, are you saying that XM has screwed up the channel name and it now shows as "KIIS"? If so, that is likely a screwup on their end that will get fixed. Regarding question 2, I assume your talking about the logo generator. The "Save/Load" functions let you save/re-load any changes you make to the channel mapping in the logo generator itself, when you click "Save" (If you have not loaded a file) or "Save As" you are prompted to pick the filename you want to use, just as it you were saving a file in Word or Excel.
  7. All channels have a permanent non-public ID number (not visible to users) and a public channel number/name. The numbers do not change based on the subscriber package...that would create mass confusion. All the channels, with their numbers, are listed in the channel guide PDF on the XM/Sirius website. If XM changes a channel name it will break the logo. This can be fixed by the using the logo generator program to create an updated XMDAT.DAT file.
  8. The logo filenames correspond to the non-public permanent channel IDs. The public channel numbers equivalens are defined XMDAT file but can be dynamically changed by XM at any time. The documentation for the XM logo generator has the technical details.
  9. There is no updated XMCAT subdirectory in this logo release and thus no change to category images which reside in that directory. The existing category images should work. The category logos are purely a Pioneer invention, XM doesn't provide these and so there is no official source for category images in order to create new ones. Pioneer does not provide a logo for every category. The data image table should have the same category logo/name settings as were provided from the last Pioneer map update.
  10. I would have to make an updated version of the logo generator to support that, it didn't occur that someone whould want to do that as it looks like the logo background is meant to mesh in to the larger background as a whole or I would have had it use the files instead of embedding them in the EXE which I did to save time and avoid all kinds of error checking. The two bitmap files are just there as a technical example.
  11. Which file size(s) are you looking at or expecting? You are going to end up with a slightly larger ISO after doing the replace because there are more station logos than previously, plus some obsolete logo files are still going to be present. The individual PIM files in the logo are the same size as the old ones. I did have a problem with some ISO editing tools in the past with the Pioneer DVD images. You need a tool like Ultra ISO that lets you edit the ISO image contents "in place", you cannot rebuild an new ISO from scratch files or you will lose the needed Pioneer image paramters in pl
  12. Software developer, but I do often have to write some kind documents as part of that. In this case I was trying to make the document as complete as possible for non-technical people.
  13. Attached is the updated XM Logo Generator program. This release contains the updated raw logos and default channel mapping for the May 2011 logo update and adds support for the new Zxxx series. This program takes raw 32-bit transparent PNG logo images by channel number and size and automatically converts them into the special formats used by the various AVIC units. It handles all of the dirty work involving color conversion, handling of special transparent colors and backgrounds specific to each AVIC series, and generation of RGB 555 Bitmap files and/or PIM formatted files with the appropr
  14. Here is first logo update release for the new Zxxx series. This didn't take as long as I expected. Since this is the first attempt at this unit please give feedback on if the background of the logos looks and meshes ok on the AVIC display. The background used for this unit has a 1 pixel border around it and it may be necessary to adjust the logos so they don't touch the border. UPDATE REMOVED. NEWER VERSION IS HERE: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/32128-xm-july-16th-logo-updatednfzxzxxx-series/
  15. The logo updates are done and posted here: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/31627-xm-may-6th-2011-logo-updatednfzx-series/http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/31627-xm-may-6th-2011-logo-updatednfzx-series/
  16. I have the files for the new Zxxx series units. These units use a new image size for the larger logo bitmap of 170x55. Closer examination shows that a unique specialized background is being used for both the large and small images. The logo PNGs are ready for the new size and once I finish pulling clean blank images of the special backgrounds the logo generator can be modified to compile this series in the necessary format and I can post the logo update and update logo generator. I hope to finish this sometime before the end of next week.
  17. The D and N series pack is here. If there is a problem please post back on here as soon as possible so people aren't burning coasters. UPDATE REMOVED. NEWER VERSION IS HERE: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/32128-xm-july-16th-logo-updatednfzxzxxx-series/
  18. The F series pack using the transparent background look is here. UPDATE REMOVED. NEWER VERSION IS HERE: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/32128-xm-july-16th-logo-updatednfzxzxxx-series/
  19. The F series pack using the standard Pioneer background is here. UPDATE REMOVED. NEWER VERSION IS HERE: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/32128-xm-july-16th-logo-updatednfzxzxxx-series/
  20. Here are the updated logo image packs for May 2011. If you wish to make a donation for this effort my paypal is vandal@racinginc.com. This is not a requirement as I will never charge money for these logo updates nor make conditions regarding their use. Changes/Improvements/Issues: - Image table update for all May 2011 XM lineup changes including new channels and channel name/number changes. - Update of all images from the latest channel guide. - Sports channels still alternate between "Sports XXX", "NBA XXX" etc. and "Sports Play-By-Play". The logo will only appear if the chann
  21. The system of doing logos doesn't appear have changed with the Z130 which is good. The small logos are the same size as on the F series at 90x30 with a different background. The large logos are completely new size...170x55. I don't see any specialized backgrounds like on the large Zx series so this shouldn't be a big deal to do. As soon as I finish up the release for the other models I will modify the extraction process for a new size and then the generation program for a new model. I resolved the last of the station IDs last night so I can now generate the table OK. I hadn't done my QA o
  22. Here is where I'm at right now: - I have all the new logos extracted from the new channel guide PDF in high quality in the 5 sizes needed for the D/N/F/Z series. I can't do anything about the new Zxxx series until someone can get me a copy of the XMDAT, XMCAT, XMLPS, XMDPS directories from that unit. Assuming they didn't redo the whole logo system. - Now that the update has happened I am finally able to see the changes. There are nearly 2 dozen name changes to existing channels, those were prety easy to address last night. - There are 20 or so channels whose station ID isn't yet id
  23. That's the new model I presume...is the hard drive accessable like old Z series and does is use the same logo system? If so I will need someone to send me the contents of the XMDAT and XMCAT subdirectories.
  24. They won't...they never have before. I've starting on the next logo update and will try to get it out by the end of the week. I still need a copy of the updated XMCAT and XMDAT directories from the latest D series CD-ROM so that I can fix the problem with incorrect categories on that series unit. If someone has copy of these please send them to me.
  25. I have re-uploaded all 4 ZIP file packages and they should be good now.
