  1. Thanks for the fast reply. I actually started to write them down this morning, when i got about a 1/4 of the way on writing them down i stopped. Figured there's got to be a better way than this. i guess there isn't. I 'll go back and continue to write them down. WOW, a lot of money for high end unit and no battery backup! Did they forget that part at Pioneer? No one out there figure out a jury rig battery back for this? Anyway, thanks again for your response "CatchmeIfYouCan631"..
  2. Does any one know if there is some kind of battery backup that comes with a N1 or maybe purchase a battery backup to keep all those crazy settings stored if there is a power loss. I've had my battery disconnected several times for work performed on 2003 Dakota truck and every time I have to go through a million settings to restore them to my taste. Sometimes i think i'm off on some audio settings because i cant remember them all, does everyone out there have to go through all these settings on a power loss or am I the only one! let me know...Thanks
  3. I searched throughout the forum for this, but no clear explain'g. I have an Avic N1 with N3 software and mod done. I also have a TV Tuner and a CD changer hooked up to brain unit. I just bought an Ipod and a XM radio interface. Does anyone know on how to hook these two units to the system that I currently have? I need to know the details on where these hookups go. Do they get hooked in series?? What about the blue wire on head unit...??? 2005 Dodge Magnum... Thanks
  4. RESULTS..RESULTS.... I took that lead from the PCM that's suppose to be the VSS wire and hooked it up to the pink of N1. WOW!! Everything works beutifully, very accurate, voice promts great and dynamics are on the money. THanks a mill....helcamino75 and cntrylvr79 This forum has been a wealth of info... [/b]
  5. Thanks a million...will try it this afternoon. Will post result...
  6. so basically you're saying that the voltmeter will not really tell me anything, I should just hook up the wire and look at the dynamics screen to see if it's registering my speed, am I right?? thanks again for your help...
  7. then what's the deal with the voltmeter?? what is it suppose to be showing as I go slow and fast w/speed. thanks
  8. OK, I tapped into the VSS wire on my truck. I ran a lead into the truck and attached a voltmeter. Set the meter to AC voltage. Drove truck and watched the meter. It displays 10.5v when stopped and 5.2v when driving. Isn't it suppose to vary at different volts as I drive at different speeds?? I do have the right wire correct?? I tried the navigation without this wire and it's somewhat off coarse, also the voice prompt gets cut off pre-maturely, probable due to being off coarse???(VSS Wire??) If I attach this lead to pink wire of N1 will it work correctly? Installed N1 into 2003 Dod
  9. Thanks for the info CNTRYLVR79.
  10. First time on forum. For the experts out there. I have a 2003 Dodge DAkota. Just installed a AVIC N1 with N3 software. I haven't hooked up the VSS wire or the reverse lead yet. Is the VSS on a dakota a white/orange stripe located on pin 27 of PCM (middle connector)? How do I test this lead before hookup to make sure. (I heard that using a volt meter with dial on AC voltage, and looking at meter display while driving vehicle ??).. Also, do I need to hook up reverse lead if not hooking up a rear view camera............Thankssss
