  1. vss: Speed Sense white/orange pin 68 at PCM

pcm is behind pass kick panel

    rev:Reverse Light black/pink + 26 pin plug, pin 20 at GEM

    FORD, MUSTANG, 2003, Reverse Light

The GEM (Generic Electronic Module) is located above the driver kick panel

  2. in the 2000 you shouldnt need any fancy chimes

if it has the bose system

    (which it probly wont)

then check behind your glove box (it has a tab you push and then it folds all the way down) you should see a square metal box with wires pointing to the center of the car.

if i has the amp then u need to bypass or get a bose adapter.

so to sum it up no u wont need the same harness but have u noticed the dash isnt big enuff for a double din?

  3. swan i dont want to pry into ur finances but how much did they charge for labor?

how much to install the avic and custom "vynll" trim

how much for speaker and amp installs?

let me know and ill tell you if it is on the high side

as far as the amps loose thats just rediculous. nothing should be loose in the car

  4. we arent saying that it wont work without vss.

but do you really think that the vss is a sill wire that they put on the unit to have us installers waste time in hooking it up...

no you dont have to hook up vss. but wouldnt you want to give your $1000+ unit all the info it can possibly get in order to work well?

i think next time i have 2 cars with avics here im going to do a test of my own ill take plenty of pics

  5. 1: yes thats it if you dont have amplifiers, but the mute wire needs to be moved for bypass

2:if the colors dont match then weve got a problem

    3:heres the info i got

purple/white pin 31 at instrument cluster

    NISSAN, ALTIMA, 2007, Speed Sense

On vehicles with BOSE audio systems and without bluetooth, can also use blue/black in the radio harness.

On vehicles with bluetooth, can also use purple/white at the bluetooth control unit under the rear deck.

    close

  6. lol its kool man i understand.

what i try to stress to my customers is the d3 is and amazing unit! for 1000 bucks

i try to prep them for it by explaining all the bad stuff about it. (needing the disk in to nav, the phone probs you are having) but then i explain all the cool shi it can do!!

but so far ive installd 14 of them so i think the pros outweigh the cons.

you might look around on ebay for a single din dvd player witha tv tuner and you can get alot more use from ur d3.

  7. for the newer pioneer screens (not avics) i simply tie a relay to the remote output of the deck

so when the deck turns on it clicks on the park brake wire. works 95% of the time and when i doesnt you just turn the source off and then back on

  8. ok im guessin u gotta 03 n up gm vehicle with premium bose.

its not pioneers fault that the fader is controlled through data bus. the only way to get around this is to replace and rewire all speakers in your truck.

as far as ur cd changer "pairing" keep dreaming.

gm doesnt make their equipment adaptable so i dont know what gave you the impression that that was even doable.

you can easily replace the cd changer witha dvd player so you can keep your map disk in like so

  9. its probly got an amp either behind drivers dash or in a horrible spot behind the glovebox. i always just bypass the amp. the wire colors are matched up (white/red, white/black) so its pretty easy. for the acc wire ususally the cig lighter is powered by the retained accesory so check that.

for steering wheel controls ull need 2 parts the peswips, and the peswican.

they cost about 130 on ebay.

  10. hey all i dont wanna type too much but i love this site and have used it for awhile. ive installd avics for 6 years and have always used this site for help on any probs i may incounter. i also send customers here to educate themselves
