I have had no issues with my 5 & 8000NEX.
Tomorrow, I'll report what my 6+ does.
-
I'm using it with iOS8 on an i5 without issue.
qft
I'll report what happens when I get my 6+ tomorrow.
-
If/when Carplay happens we'll be able to do most of this anyway, that is another dream at this point however.
-
This is long overdue now mike wtf were you been dude since i gave you a huge donation ive not heard from you come on man ?
How much do you need
Not even a update
Not the way I'd approach this. Good luck.

I'm pissed but nowhere near lawsuit pissed.
I had Kenwood units going back to the pull out tape decks of the 80s up tp 9980HD and after revisions sh!tcanned previous models year after year plus the general bugginess referred above I went APPRADIO3 last year & 8000NEX this year.
The NEX sounds head & shoulders above anything from Kenwood & I loved my Kenwood units.

Nice we have to do detective work for an update.

The sad thing is I don't think Pioneer knows.

Dear Valued Pioneer Customer:
We would like to advise you regarding the AVICSYNC feature update for Pioneer NEX models. Pioneer had anticipated that the update would be available in spring for all NEX models with embedded navigation (AVIC-5000NEX, AVIC-6000NEX, AVIC-7000NEX, and AVIC-8000NEX). With a connected smartphone, AVICSYNC would provide a simplified interface for accessing subscription-based services such as traffic, local search, weather, and gas prices.
Unfortunately the update for AVICSYNC has been delayed, and the revised release timing is expected to be by the end of this year. While the AVICSYNC enhancements are not central to the functionality of NEX navigation products, Pioneer wishes to explain alternative solutions currently available. With the NEX product in AppRadio Mode1 and connected to a compatible iPhone or Samsung Galaxy phone2, services can be obtained through the below AppRadio Mode compatible third party applications3 available through the iTunes App Store and Google Play:
Services Apps
Live traffic updates INRIX®, Waze®
Weather CommuteWX
Parking locations and pricing Parkopedia®
Fuel pricing and POI updates Waze, ExtraMile
AVICSYNC is intended to enable access to the above types of services from one place. Pioneer regrets that we are not able to provide this feature as previously scheduled. We hope the above services will be useful in the interim. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Pioneer Customer Service toll free at 1-800-421-1404, Monday through Friday, 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM - 7:00 PM (Eastern Time), excluding holidays, or by email through http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/contact/.
Sincerely,
Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. -
Very sloppy marketing...
Hopefully it'll be released having gone through a fairly rigorous Apple QA test plan and be all the better for it.
Hopefully.
Sloppy is kind. I agree hopefully whenever it is released it is at least fully sorted.

This is why companies like Blizzard famously never give any timeframes, they just say it will be ready when it's done. Lots of issues can come up developing a big update like this, and Carplay is something of an entirely new product for Apple. If they wouldn't have given the summer timeframe, people would be complaining that they never gave a date when it would be released, and whining that it's vaporware.
If Grandma had balls she'd be Grandpa.
They did set a date, that date has passed & I find it great all these Pioneer employees are here to shovel the corporate fecal matter.
-
I have over 2k songs in my iTunes library, I put them on a 64gb SD card which took up less than 15gb & they live in my 8000.
-
Sure and if they had said firmware release date subject to Apple's release permissions sometime in the future no complaint would be reasonable. Unfortunately, they did not.
-
This one does not say anything about not being available now!
-
My point is these came to market with an early summer promise. That missed equals bull.
How anyone thinks it is ok to make a promise, break it and say well now we say something else is nonsense
-
Which is supposed to happen September 9th and would fit with Pioneer's stated summer release.
They initially said early summer which is not September.
-
I can't wait for the moaning and groaning once Carplay is released...... I can tell you right now it's not going to work 100% for everyone....
And yet the bitching has been non stop because Carplay wasn't released in "early summer" as implied. Taking longer to resolve compatibility issues, or licensing issues, or marketing issues means little to some people.
They sold the units with a promise of early summer carplay. When I buy something with a promise I expect that promise to be kept.
The least they could do is give a reasonable timeframe explination.

The AVIC-8000NEX will need to have a firmware update (available early summer) applied to provide compatibility with Maestro RR.
FROM PIONEER website
Early Summer, What Year?
2016? with Carplay?? lol

I have also had this issue. I am used to my Garmin so after a few tries reverted to my Garmin for NAV, my APPRADIO3 210 first line Pioneer service experience was pretty poor, I got my 8000 by going over their heads but a smooth process I'd not call it although I am happy to have the 8000 now.
-
I hope this is true, that means :35 minutes!
lol

Yes. It is increased & decreased by turning the sub volume up & down.
-
It is connected via RCA from the sub out. When I turn the amp down it is too low.
-
I drove today with someone else in the car & had the sound turned down & found the sub (running from an external amp from the RCA sub out) is not controlled by the volume. It stayed at 4 (fine for running at moderate levels) but over powering at low levels on the volume control. Is there a setting I am missing to modulate it via volume control?
-
I have lived with the 8000 for a while and am really liking it. The APPRADIO3 sounded fine, this sounds great. The AR3 BT worked ok, this connects immediately and works better/responds faster.
My only complaints are the delay of carplay firmware and lack of info on an actual release date. I bought my radio being told early summer which is over, what is next? Early fall?
