  1. same problem here as well. has been suggested to me that it is to do with the gracenotes database - haven't found a fix as of yet...
  2. I can understand if there was a gap on my CD (which is store bought), but there are no gaps between the tracks. I just thought the AVIC would recognise that there are no gaps and play the album correctly. The only way to play the cd properly (it seems) is to record it as one mp3, reburn to .cda format and then rip the burnt cd to the AVIC. Unfortunately I will not then be able to skip between tracks, etc.
  3. Thanks for the info outhouse. I wonder if there is a "fix" for this, as incurring this delay totally destroys the ambiance of the album. Not good in my opinion..
  4. Hi, I have ripped a store bought cd to the hard drive. Even though it has about a dozen tracks they have no time delay between these tracks as it is a live recording of a concert. When I play it back from the hard drive I get a distinct pause (1 or 2 seconds) while the AVIC picks the next track. Is this normal? I thought it should jump straight to the next track with no delay as per the cd it ripped the music from..
  5. I believe so. perfect, exactly what I was after. Thanks so much Mikek
  6. Thanks guys, got it sorted. I am using .cue files and burning to a cd using nero. I still have to cut the 2 hour long .mp3 into sub 74 minute chunks, but after that the .cue file breaks the .mp3 into an ordinary style multi track cd which the AVIC rips perfectly. The .cue file gives the AVIC the album, song titles, song artists, the lot. Really happy with this solution, just took a bit of research on google to find that solution
  7. Hi, I have ripped about 50 albums to my HD3BT AVIC's hard drive. I only seem to be able to sort the albums numerically (i.e 01, 02 , 03, etc) which is the order I ripped them in. I want to sort alpha-numerically as it makes it easier to find an album this way instead of trying to remember what numbered slot it was ripped to. I haven't looked at the favorites option yet, however if you search by albums, you "should" be able to search alpha-numerically - well that's what I think anyway Can someone please post some light on my conundrum.. Thanks, Geoff.
  8. Sorry, probably didn't explain properly on my initial post. There is only one .mp3 (which is converted to .cda) per album when burnt with Nero. The song is 65 minutes long, so currently on the AVIC-HD3BT the only way to skip forward is to press the fast forward icon on the screen. I want to be able to setup 5 minute increments (like tags, etc) so when I touch the next track icon it skips forward 5 minutes in the same song. As I said I am using Cool Edit Pro 2.1, so if anyone can help me with this it would be great. Thanks, Geoff.
  9. Hi, I want to be able to "mark" a single large .mp3 file which is converted to .cda then ripped by the AVIC to its hard drive. I want to be able to set an interval of 5 minutes, so that a single track of 70 minutes can be skipped forward by 5 minute increments by using the next track button on the AVIC. Hopefully that makes sense I am using Cool Edit Pro. I can cut the file into 5 minute mp3 files and "create" an album, but I really want to be able to "tag" the .mp3 so that it is still a single file but have the AVIC recognize the tags so I can quickly fast forward through the music trac
  10. Hmmmm, not sure of the make and model of all the CAN bus adapters that were used, BUT I do have full functionality which is the main thing I suppose.
  11. I looked up the Dietz CAN bus interfaces and they seem to be really good. But it doesn't look like they support Pioneer HUs ?? http://www.dietz.biz/ENG/000000965c0e2c051/index.html Excuse my ignorance, what is a Pioneer HU? Also, talking with a couple of people today on the phone in the car, and they said they got a lot of echo. Was trying to find in the menu structure where I could set the bluetooth to only come out of the left or right speakers, couldn't find it though.
  12. Thanks mate, I am using Cool Edit Pro 2.1 to split the mp3 into files that will fit onto a cd. Wish that was the hardest part, but it isn't unfortunately.
  13. I tried burning with winamp and windows media player 11 - sasme result. The AVIC has trouble with the album name and track name. I can always rename the track name in the AVIC, but unfortunately I can't touch the album name, and this is my main problem. If I can get the ID3 tag album name info correct on the mp3, then the rest should be ok - but I can't.
  14. Well I'm buggered. It did it again. Only when I burnt a totally different artist & album did the AVIC recognise the new artist/album. After the successful ripping of that album I then tried my earlier songname2a album. Once again the AVIC said it was songname1a.
