1. One simple question that I failed to see in this thread. Why did the Arnold impersonator replace the sexy english lady for the SpeedCam warnings? Is there a way to switch it back?

Ceger

i'll create another set of voices for speedcam using a sexy english lady

Also, my trip computer does nothing, it stays at 0 for everything but my current speed. This is for both on the map screen as well as from the settings panel.

Thanks.

not sure why everyone's tripcomputer is acting up, it has been posted by users not only using my mod but as well as other mods

Awesome on the sexy voice! :)

The trip computer is more just playing around, so it is not that important, just more for information purposes for you.

Thanks as always. You rock!

2. IDT,

Your SYS.txt ha the following settings...

3d_max_tiltlevel=10000

3d_max_zoomlevel=1500

How do these numbers work? If I wanted to have something between your angle and the default system angle, what would be the value or direction to change the number on the tilt? Your current setup is almost half the screen showing sky and I would like to have the sky takes up 1/3 or less. Also, if I wanted to zoom in the equivalent of pushing up on the knob 4 times, do you know what that would be?

Thanks,

-K

3. Does anyone know which numbers to change to make street labels show further in the distance?

I have changed them and have not seen any change yet.

I'm running with something like this:

[clip_planes]
; mode, lower bound, upper bound, lower value, upper Value
; mode: 0: by zoom level,
; 1: by number of cells,
;       2: by intersect value (0..45),
; 3 by camera tilt angle (0..100 from totally flat to top-downview)
; values: 0.0 .. 1.0 * 1000 (= 0..1000)

faded_buildings_near   = 0, 10, 200, 600, 600
faded_buildings_medium = 0, 10, 200, 650, 650
faded_buildings_far    = 0, 10, 200, 750, 750

solid_buildings_near    = 0, 95, 100,  1000,980
solid_buildings_medium    = 0, 95, 100,  1000,980
solid_buildings_far    = 0, 95, 100,  1000,980

landmark = 0 , 1, 50, 1000, 1000

road0 = 3, 20, 70, 930, 1000
road1 = 3, 20, 70, 950, 1000
road2 = 3, 10, 75, 970, 1000
road3 = 3, 0, 100, 995, 995
roadsign               = 2, 0, 40, 1000, 900

;a ket reszletesebb terrain
terrain0 = 0, 30, 30, 750, 750
terrain1 = 0, 30, 30, 850, 850

;reszletes shapek. Mivel lassu, ezert ne vigyetek tulzasba.
shape0   = 2, 1,  10, 1000, 0

I believe Roadsign is the value you want changed.

Can anyone better explain what the lower and upper values mean? I don't understand why the "upper" value is lower numerically than the "lower" value.

And what exactly is intersect mode? Why not use by camera tile angle?

Thanks,

Ceger

4. wow i am confused.

1. what is the flash dump that i have to put on a SD card?

From what i understand, after Wince is updated, you put in the SD card with the testfolder, data file and flash dump into "My Flash Disk" Drive.

2. So I dont delete anything form my "My Flash Disk"?

3. Everything will get overwritten including data.zip?

Thanks

1. flash dump is the copy of the files from the X

2. you have to delete everything inside the myflashdisk to avoid any conflicts

3.if you don't delete it everything will be overwritten

I might have not been paying attention, but I simply moved in your DATA.zip, font and SYS.txt file into my IG0 folder as I did all past mods. Are you saying that it will cause issues if I do not do a complete fresh delete and copy of the modified flash disk folder on the unit? Everything seems to be running fine, if not a little slow, which I assumed is due to POI overlays I have turned on.

5.

here you go, extract the zip and put it inside common folder and common night folder,

for the tilt and zoom it's in the sys.txt

on the [map] section of the sys.txt add these (if they're not in there) and just play with the values to get the desired max tilt and maz zoom

3d_max_tiltlevel=10000
3d_max_zoomlevel=1500

Perfect, thank you for the help.

6. IDT,

Where are the graphics for the navigation arrows and directions. I want to switch to your older 2.7 versions as I do not like the more cartonny ones your later mods have been using. Any known issue with switching those over?

BTW, Loving the new tools and integration overall.

Ceger

do you mean the green directional icon?

Yes. Yours are yellow. To be specific, the arrows and graphics that appear in the top left corner when navigation is on to a destination.

Also, where is the data stored for the map default tilt and zoom of the 3D display. I want to adjust that, but do not seem to be hitting the correct values. What file are those in?

7. ok so far this is the best zip I have tried on here.. now I was wondering if some one can help me do something to it.. 1 st.. I would like to remove the backgrouund bar that the KMH sits on... I Dont care about elevation.. so we can get rid of that.. and I would also like to have ALL the short cuts gone from the left side is there someone here who could show me how to do this are just remake the zip for me??? thanks...

Everything is labeled in the navigatemap_800_480.ui file located in the data.zip file at ui_pioneer\800_480\ui. No one is likely to make changes since you usually need to edit the file and then load it to see if it did what you wanted. That is a time consuming process and would mean someone undoing what they have to make something custom for you.

But if you just look through the file and compare to your original, you will find all the areas to change. Some highlights for you are below.

Left icons are at ";quick menu"

speed and altitude at top are at ";*** current speed, altitude when not navigating"

Not sure where the background image for that is; just look through the code.

8. From what BorisM told me in regards to a similar question I had, all AV operations are handled in the Pioneer executable, thus there are no controls or data values that can be used or controlled in the navigation interface. You cannot customize the screen in regards to non-navi items.

9. Nice job on these scripts.

Two things. One; pressing the clock does not blank the screen for me. I am unsure I care :)

Two; is there a way to change the green "bar" at the top to another color?

I would like the clock say dark red, dark blue or black with white numbers. Just so it stands out a bit more than the green.

The BMP filename is time.bmp. You can edit it yourself. There is a similar BMP for the backgorund that the speed and altitude appear on as well.

Text color is in hex RGB values that follow #RRGGBB where values for each run from 00 (darkest) to FF (lightest). A program like photoshop or any web image editing tool will help give you the values for colors you are looking for. i.e. #000000 is black while #FFFFFF is white. brightest pure red would be #FF0000, etc..

10. right now i'm trying to figure out the simulate controls, i was able to make it work but once the simulation is over the faster/slower button is still on the nav screen, anyone could help me out with this one? i want those button to disappear once the simulation is over just like the green stop button for the simulation,

Not too familiar with that. Someone like mikegedge or BorisM might know.

11. BTW, anyone know what would be the values for...

- button visiblemodel format for when XM, Sirius, FM, AM or HD radio are used?

- button onrelease values for Next and Previous presets?

I want to add buttons to the nac screen above the AV section in the lower right that will allow for presets to be changed without having to leave the map screen.

Thanks in advance.

Ceger

None... they are not handled by FireFly (iGO's UI manager), but by the AVIC shell itself.

Damn. I was afraid of that.

Thanks for the response.

13. Sorry guys if this is a dumb question.... I've used winrar to view the data.zip file, so that I can chance the navi settings that Maverickster has made for us. However, when I open the .ui files, it's a "read only" file, and I can't make changes to it to adjust the ;clock settings, and so on. For example: when I click on the "navigatemap_800_480.ui" file, it opens up in "notebook" on my pc as a "view" file.

Do I have to unzip the data.zip file first? I ask, because when I modified the parking-brake speed, I only had to open winrar, and "view" the file to change the parking-brake setting. Or ... maybe I have to open this up and change it on the unit in test-mode????

What am I doing wrong that I can't change the text in the .ui files? Also, I'm new to winrar.... sorry that this is obviously a NOOB Q. But, if I DO have to unzip the files to make changes, how to I "re-compress" the files back into the "data.zip" folder to change it out on my unit.... which is a f700bt if anyone cares! :wink:

Thanks for your time - and thanks for the posts!

Just save the changed file to a normal filesystem location and when done, replace the file in the zip with the one you created. Most zip programs will not allow you to edit the file in the zip. It is really not a big issue, particularly when you can just drag and drop into the zip.

14. I have an iPhone, and haven't had this problem. I always have the phone connected as an audio source, and when I get/place a call, the media automatically mutes, and comes back when the call is ended.

Yes, but it comes back displaying the map screen, not the ipod control screen, that's what they're complaining about.

myself? I'm ok with it just coming back to the map screen, but playing music from the current ipod playlist.

If you are not using an I-Phone which is programmed to pause music while making or receiving calls, then the unit will not pause music if you are playing from SD, CD, etc..

So it is really two issues; I am the one that brought up about the screen switching to the map screen.

15. I have no problem as well... but he had a really good idea cause stacking them up all slim and straight down like that just requires way too much precision with your fingers.

his format would spread them out and even fill up the screen nicely. but im not dure if this is doable or not. =( i dont even know where to start to look for the code.

Better yet, there is room to the right of the detail pane to add vertically stacked preset buttons. I would love to be able to mod this screen for XM and FM; particularly XM.
