  1. I've got the D3 and the BT module to go with it, and I'm using a Verizon Wireless Blackberry 8703e. The phone was crushed the other day by an 85lb. dumbell so I had to get a new one. The previous phone would automatically connect to the bluetooth when the head unit powered up or I got back in it while running. The new phone will not do this. I've been through everything as far as checking the settings from the "menu" button while on the BT function, I've swapped BB's and tried others with no luck, and I've changed all the settings in my phone and nothing seems to work. You have to m
  2. Actually, I have an LBZ Duramax truck, this one's a customers and it's all stock. No programmers. The D3 in my truck does funky shit like that too...
  3. I started the thread about the Z2 freezing on startup. After sending it back twice, I have a new one with a production date of July 2007. Haven't had it back long enough to see about the freezing part though. 2006 F-250 Diesel Z2 with BT, iPod MB Quart PAB5400 JL Audio components JL Audio stealthbox After installing the new head unit, it's got all kinds of noise. What's funny is that there are so many different intermittent noises, that none of them are the same. I've grounded the head unit to the metal behind the dash, I've held a ground on the shields of the RCA's (didnt' hel
  4. So I just received my customer's Z2 yesterday. I sent it in for the first time and got it back, NTF. I sent it back the same day saying it didn't work again, and yesterday after waiting 2 weeks I received a brand new one. It even came with all the new harnesses and in the retail box. The production date is July 2007. How can I tell if it has the most recent update for the bypass to work? I'll check the other threads but thought I'd go ahead and ask since I've already started this thread.
  5. WTF? Have you not read anything in this thread? Everyone that's posted has claimed that heat is the problem.
  6. Oh, well in that case, cool. I would hope they would give the current z2 owners the update for free. Me too. Especially since they're selling $1,800 head units that freeze up when they get hot, then say NTF.
  7. This thread is about the Z2. That's the model I speak of
  8. The disc I was told about is the one that you supposedly have to buy for $250. I'll post in here when I found out more. I'm sorry to tease, but that's all the info I have for now. Another Pioneer rep on another forum that I frequent just confirmed that the upgrade disc will be available from Pioneer's website as a FREE download. He said next Thursday it should be up on the site.

  10. I just heard from a Pioneer rep that the upgrade software is gonna be posted on Pioneer's website real soon. That's from a Pioneer rep..... Keep an eye on the site.
  11. Thanks for the info. I'll try that level 4 reset.
  12. Did they just cram too much stuff in that tiny double din package?
  13. Thanks for the answers. I knew about Verizon and there money making tactics of blocking Bluetooth so you have to buy ringtones/pictures instead of getting them from other cell phones with better carriers, but I wasn't too sure about the name labels.
  14. I've got my BTB200 paired with a Blackberry 8703e from Verizon and when I try to use the "direct" button and dial from the head unit, the button is only lit up part of the time. Once, in the middle of dialing on the screen of the radio, it went away and the screen went back to the presets. What's this all about? Also, is there any way to put a name on the preset tabs instead of just the number?
  15. I've read a few threads about this "hot startup" issue. I've got a customer with a Z2 that claims his is freezing on startup and he's reset it on the face several times. Is there another way to reset? I thought I'd read something in the manual about this but it didn't seem to work. If the unit is dead like some of the others, what do I need to do with it? Send in to Pioneer? What are the details on that? Thanks
