  1. I said I would come back with an update... You will be happy to know that this bypass has worked flawlessly for well over 3500 miles and two weeks! This is personally tested by myself!
  2. You are in fact correct with your statements. The disc is advertised as an upgrade disc for the AVIC-Z1. It was only the great leap that I purchased it and was able to get it to work as a bypass (on a Z2 rather than a Z1). I made a backup of the hard drive in case I really screwed it up (which I truly thought might happen). As it turned out, it worked and I am very happy about enabling the unit the way it should be. I can certainly justify spending the money on the Upgrade Disc to give myself the features that I had access to on my old AVIC-D1. I cannot guarantee that this will work for anyone
  3. You will be happy to know that the DVD that you have coming will solve your bypass. How did you get it for $0.00???

  7. After much testing, we have come up with a solution that we can now run with. All rumors can be put to bed!!! This is not a theory that someone saw somebody else do... The upgrade DVD (for the Z1 POI/maps) is the answer to all of our questions. The DVD-ROM is a part number of CNDV-700HD and the version number is 1.0. The release date is 02/2007. I purchased this DVD from Pioneer yesterday and relunctantly installed the upgrade on my April 2007 model AVIC-Z2. No where in the documentation does it mention the Z2, so I wasn't sure if it would mess up the unit or not. I began the upgrade,
  8. Purchased the Z2 today, should be here on Thursday. Will desperately try to find the bypass. I have one of the first D1's on the market and figured out the bypass (by myself) in a matter of a few hours... Lets hope for the best on the Z2!
