  5. HEY, I really am trying to get this fixed, but I'm getting nowhere. I uploaded a one.five minute video on YouTube of exactly whats going on. Please watch it and let me know if there is anything I can do.... thanks. YouTube Link: thanks a lot everyone.
  6. was it clearance? edit: sorry I meant was it open box? Can you scan your receipt, so we can go in and "pricematch" and show a circuit city manager?
  7. of course not. looking at the problems here what is the solution?
  8. Recently my avic N2 was stolen from my vehicle. They left all the cables. I bought an N3 and plugged it in. No signal - black screen. I assumed the N3 did not work with the N2 Brain. Then I bought an N3 brain. Plugged everything in. Blank screen. No video, audio, or controls whatsoever. But, the cd eject works. Please advise. Thank you.

    THEY GOT ME!!!!

    they got me too http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10506
  10. I purchased an N3 without really doing the research. Is it backwards compatible with the N2 brain? (I also bought the iPod Adapter).
  11. Hello everyone. My Pioneer AVIC N2 headunit was stolen this week. I plan on repurcharsing AVIC. They took the headunit and left the brain. They also took my Playstation2 and Guitar Hero Guitar.. Worst of all - - - They stole my HIGH SCORES!!!!! Would it be best to repurchase N2 because the install would be easy? Or is this a good opportunity to upgrade to an N3, or N4? Is there even a big difference that I could see? Is the N3, or N4 compatible with the N2 brain? Do they have the same wires and connections? Would it be worth purchasing the N4 and trying to sell my N2 brain on
  12. here is another idea; i am currently powering the camera via the cigarette lighter. is the voltage too strong for the camera, and it needs to be tagged to the brake lights?
  13. wow im surprised that i found them in my address book. i really spent a lot of time looking to erase and i couldnt figure it out. thanks for pointing that out to me i appreciate that.
  14. thank you for your continued help. i cannot input it into the video input of the brain because that is where the PS2 is plugged into. It has to be plugged into the rear camera input, (unless there is two video inputs on the brain?) thanks again.
  15. The camera is only connected to a single point at the headunit and that is the rear camera input on the brain. No other connections were made whatsoever except for the + and - to power the camera. thanks.
  16. I will be as descriptive as I can, but the screen really is always black. Even BEFORE I installed the camera to my car, I turned the camera "function" on in the AVIC N2, and the screen was black with a small message on the bottom "this image may appear reversed" I believe. Now, with the camera installed, and hopefully powered, the same message and same screen is appearing. It was black, and it still is black. Is it causing a big problem that the reverse why does not lead anywhere?
  17. a.) the screen is always black. when i put the car into reverse there is no difference as the screen is constantly the same. b.) although I noticed the reverse wire coming from the BRAIN (purple) I did not touch it as I assumed that was if I only wanted the camera to be functional when the car was in reverse, and I want the camera to be functional at all times. thanks
  18. I was playing around with my avic and I set a few sounds whenever I approach a certain road. That's cool and all but it got real lame real quick and I can't for the life of me seem to know how to shut off the sounds. Does anyone know how I can erase the points? thanks.
  19. Man I'm really frustrated here. I bought a rearview camera via thirdparty and it has basically three wires from it. Positive, Negative and Video. I gave the camera power, grounded it and connected the yellow rca to the brain of the avic N2. No picture is displayed no matter what I try to do. Are there settings in the avic N2 that need to be on to "receive" the camera, besides the basic "camera on". What about Ground/Polarity - does it make a difference? I am about 90% sure that the camera is receiving power because I have tried with multiple attempts to multiple different areas.
