1. That work around doesn't work for the Z1. But this was interesting: I plugged in my iPhone to the iPod control, said not compatible, do you want to put it in Airplane mode, I said no and carried on. It worked great, as if a regular iPod was connected. I listened to music, got a call, picked up threw the Z1, music paused. When I was done, I hung up on the Z1 and the music picked back up. Only issue was the cell noise but it wasn't that bad.
2. My iPhone works great with the Z1. I tried to send my contacts to the Z1 threw my MacBook Pro, but that didn't work
3. My iPhone is working great with the Z1 as well, much better than my Treo 700p. The caller Id actually works now on the Z1, and I can switch back and forth from the iPhone to the Z1 as many times as I want. Also, the volume on the phone turns the bluethooth volume up and now on the Z1!!! Love this phone.
4. Had an idea of hooking up an AppleTV to the Z1 threw the Aux input (video and audio). Wouldn't need the touch screen cause of the Apple Remote. It could sync all of your vids and tunes threw wifi when ya pull in the garage! http://techrestore.com/xcart/product.php?productid=17964&cat=356&page=1 Only prob is the AppleTV is HD. Are there component to composite adapters out there? Thoughts???
5. Do u live or drive in a major city? I live in ATL and when I'm downtown I see buildings and grass in 3D. Huge difference then when I'm 20min outside the city at home.
6. Isn't the "smart routing" part of the Z1??? So what's the difference with the Z2 then, maybe it's a little better? I hope they come out with an update for us Z1-ers Here's Pioneer's Press Release http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v ... 65,00.html
7. Ahh yes, NaviTraffic, good point. I'm defiantly leaning towards keeping it all.
8. I have the Z1 in my Diamante, but I'm thinking about buying a new car. I'm looking at the Infiniti M35 or the BMW 525. Now both cars come with nice navi systems all integrated with controls on the dash. So I don't know if I should keep my Z1 and have it put in, or go with the systems that are so integrated!?! Cause I love my Z1 and I have so many things hooked up to it (XM, Sirius, TV, DVD Changer, iPod, etc). Opinions? -Brett
9. I have this unit and it works with my Z1. Couple notes thou. I can only view the dvds on my Z1, not my other screens. I did not install it myself so maybe it can be wired different. Yes, you have to use a remote to control it, the Z1 won't, but it comes with a remote I belive. I had the old stand alone navi, maybe the remote came with that. Anyhow, it does not play MP3 cds, just get an ipod instead.
10.
yes, I agree...and I am stupid. I have the Treo 700, and STILL have the BlueTooth on order. I know it won't work, but I ordered it anyway, because it's cool. Maybe I can get it to work.....ugh huh,
I have a 700p from Sprint and it works "ok". Couple issues: 1) Caller ID info on the Z1 is always wrong, most of the time it displays the last caller, and not the actual call that's coming threw. 2) Every single person I have talked to can hear themselves. My mic is in the middle of the car, and the audio is coming out of the left speaker. I have the calle
11.
Well, I have a bit more information that may or may not be helpful. It's entirely possible it could have something to do with your carrier. Please remember...I'm quite the noob when it comes to this sort of stuff, but I did find out that carriers configure their phones to fit their legal requirements. A lot of OBEX stuff can be disabled. I believe this can have something to do with caller ID information too. It might be worth talking to someone...or going to a board that deals with these issues in depth. But I can't help but think many of these issues are a simple
12. Mine is driving me nutz. Not working well at alll with my Treo 700p. And every caller gets anoyed hearing themselfs echo. I have the volume so low I can barley hear them. I hate it right now.
13. ducatiboy, got mine installed, works perfect. Ohh, they shop ended up wireing the ground to a switch, because I have the 6 disc dvd changer as well and that has a ground by itself. So from what they told me, that had to be grounded as well. Don't ask me, I just gave them your instructions and said go for it! Thanks a ton!!!!
14. I've gone in and renamed them. I got a call from someone that WAS NOT in my Z1 phone book, and it displayed someone that WAS. Totally different numbers.
15. I am having a problem with 2 different hands free car kits. I have tested this on both systems and get the same results. The caller id information that appears on the screen, it not that of who is actually calling. The 700p will display the correct info, but the hands free kits will not. They seem to display either the last call I made, or a random caller that is in the phone book of the car kit. I am using either the Parrot 3100, or the new Pioneer AVIC-Z1 navigation system with the bluetooth option. Because they both behave in the same manor, I am assuming it is an issue with the 700p. Anyon
