  1. Here's a question for audio experts, one which I'm embarrassed about as I've done lot of work using and even building audio equipment too. I recently put my original pioneer sound (head unit) system back in my car. This system has 4 speaker outputs for front, rear, left and right. All the outputs have two wires, so if there are any electrically 'common" connections you can't tell by looking. All the wires from the audio output plug are color coded. To help avoid errors each channel has a pair with a color for the + side of its speaker, and the same color with a black stripe for the - side.
  2. Hello, I have a Z1 with the Z3 update. Units been amazing for the 6 years i have had it. Recently i noticed the sub output seems to be at less then half power. I switched amps, ground locations, etc. Rechecked all my connections and still no help. I pulled the deck out and while messing with the sub outputs i moved the front RCA outputs out of the way and when they touched against the deck chassis, the sub peformed like it used to. So pretty much when i grounded the two rca for the front speaker outs the sub outputs went back to normal and the sub played perfect. No backfeed, no sub pop
