Hello all again, do i need the illumination wire hooked up for the d2?

if so what would it do, is there a nightmode coloring in the map?

i am going to upgrade to a d3 next week so same questions for it...thx

 

also i dont think the vss wire is hooked up properly, because i dont hear the sound go up and down, what do i need to do to fix this? i have all harnesses installed professionally i thought lol, but i will be taking on this task for my new avic

this is going to sound stupid, but do i need to disconnect the battery before i try bypassing the system?

next question if i bypass the system will it take away the message that appears everytime i start up the car and switch to map mode?

another thing you said ground the mute wire and green parking brake, so do i need to find the other end of the wire and disconnect it from being hooked up to ground it?

soz for the easy questions but lol im stupid on this subject
