jpark
Hola, I have a 2007 Ford Edge with a factory navigation HU (Pioneer's AVIC-XD1107ZF02). Does this HU have video input pins and a reverse-lamp input? I'd like to add a reverse camera to it, if possible. Thanks!

jpark
no Are you sure, or is that just a guess?
cntrylvr79
No it doesn't. Fords don't use the navi screen for their rev cams. They use a screen in the rear view mirror. There is a company you can ship your stock radio to that can mod it for video and reverse cam inputs.
jpark
I'm well aware that Ford uses the rear-view mirror in some models for the rear-view camera. That's the Gentex 50-GENK242(A) mirror. That wasn't my question. I was asking if my NAV HU has (undocumented) NTSC +/- and reverse inputs. Even though Ford doesn't use the voice control feature in my 2007, voice control (mic and switch) pins are available on the back of this HU (but unused), and they DO work when connected, so I'm guessing that NTSC +/- and reverse inputs are also there, and also unused and undocumented. jpark
Pioneer's OEM department told me that Ford handles all technical questions with these units. Ford's OEM department told me that this information is not available. SO, I ordered the manual and schematics from manualsparadise. If I find anything in the manual, I'll try to post it here. Thanks, all.
jpark
no Just curious, but when you said "no," did you have any facts when you said that? Pin 6 on the C240A (24-pin factory connector) is the reverse lamp input pin. Pin 11 on the C240B (16-pin factory connector) is the microphone + input pin (for voice commands). Pin 12 on the C240B (16-pin factory connector) is the microphone - input pin (for voice commands). I should have the video inputs and the rest of the unused pin functions when I look at the rest of the schematics, since there are seven more unused pins on the 24-pin connector and three more on the 16-pin connector. Nice guess, though.
MisFit
if you have all the answers, then you shouldnt need to ask any questions
jpark
At least I now know who doesn't have the answers. Thanks for playing.
MisFit
just because you know what pins would support things, does not mean that the compnents needed are actually in the unit. if your going to experiment on your own unit, let us know if it works. it would be good info to have
