4Runner Bob
Gotta 4Runner - and believe it or not I actually use it off-road a lot. Just got the AVIC-Z2. I was wondering how the GPS worked off-road when there aren't any "Roads". With a hand held GPS you can enter your beginning point, and see your entire trip on the screen no matter if there are any roads around you. Then you can push a Home button that will give you directions back to where you started from. Kinda like dropping bread crumbs.. Is this possible with the Z2 in areas where there aren't ANY roads?? And if so - how?? Thanks again - Bob
06gator
yes, it has a breadcrumb type function.
inferno999
yes, it has a breadcrumb type function. but for matter of record, it can't route you along the breadcrumbs, only roads. =( You'd have to just look on screen at the left over breadcrumbs and follow them back on your own. Still useful. You can also set your destination as the closest road (or where you left the road) to have a waypoint direction indicator show up, though it still won't direct you along the crumbs.
