dublniklz
Hi, I'm obviously new to the site. I was refered from powerstroke.org were I've been a member for a while. I was very pleased to see all of the information on this site, looks to be some pretty sharp folk around here. I just got my avic d3 installed in my super duty and I'm stoked, a few problems though. Here goes nothing, thanks in advance for the help 1. bypass was done, (yes in its entirety) yet the dvd function and the nav menu is restricted while in motion. 2. on the vehicle monitoring screen (the one with the gauges) the slope indicator has a message over it; "this function not available at this time". Any ideas?????
HiFiSi
1 - If the nav & video are disabled while the vehicle is in motion, the bypass is not done correctly. Recheck your bypass connections thoroughly. If it's done correctly, it WILL work, 100%. Go here and make sure everything is done EXACTLY as instructed. http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12693 2 - That means that your D3 can't perform it's 3D calibration. Make sure that the VSS (vehicle speed signal) wire and reverse signal wire are hooked up correctly. This isn't necessary for the D3 to run the GPS nav properly... it only helps to keep it accurate when you drive through an area where the satellite signal may be weak or blocked, like in a tunnel or wooded area, as well as letting the unit know when you're traveling in reverse.
