executioner
My unit started muting itself off and on while driving down the road. If I push on it almost anywhere, the audio will come back on. Seems the rougher the ride the more it mutes. Whats wrong? I am starting to not like these units.
Telezz
My friend had the same problem with his Avic-N2. The fix is pretty simple. It seems that he did not ground the MUTE wire properly (I beleive it is the Black/Yellow wire coming from the harness). The wire is usually connected to your cellphone kit if there is one installed. What happened is that when he would hit a bump of some kind, the wire was shorted against something causing the unit to think that the was a MUTE singnal sent from the cellphone kit. All i did was, i removed the unit and properly isolated this wire. It's been 3 weeks since and NO PROBLEMS. Try this, it should work. !! Hope this helps !!
executioner
I will try that, i hope it works. Any other ideas to look at while I am once again digging around in the dash?
executioner
Telezz You were 100% correct :D I pulled the radio and hanging out of the end of that wire was 1 teeny strand smaller than a hair. I clipped it and capped it. Reinstalled the radio, drove around for awhile and it works great. Thank you so much! :D :D :D
