brickbreaker
I was attempting to exchange my newly z2 imaged Toshiba hard drive with the stock in the Z1. I unfortunately stripped 2 of the 4 screws when I was trying to remove the HDD from the tray. Anyone have any idea where I can order the tray? Or how to get the screws out? I may have to dremel it, but since I don't own one, I'd rather find an alternative method before buying one. Thanks.
inferno999
We've all learned the hard way that those screws are REALLY soft. You have to use a #1 Phillips screw driver that EXACTLY fits the heads. I tried 3 #1's and eventually found one that actually fit tight. the only way I could get the damaged one out was to dremel it =( Anyway, you can get the screws here for $0.70 each: http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/par ... um=CBA1805 If you need the whole tray, get these two parts as well: http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/par ... um=CNM8452 http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/par ... um=CND3002

brickbreaker
Thanks for the info bro. Very Helpful! You get so excited that you're finally doing the upgrade that in the heat of the moment you get foiled by something this small. Argghh.
JAB95
The trays are the same for the Z1 and the Z2 correct? If so, this is great because I'm in the same boat with my Z2.

palacios
Like inferno999 said, you need to use the right screwdriver. Although he suggested a #1 screwdriver, I found that my Craftsman #0 (part # 41293) is the perfect tool for the job. All I did was turn the drive upside down, laid the drive itself flat on the edge of the counter, and pushed down a bit while loosening. Easy as cake, no damaged screws! Hopefully this helps someone BEFORE they strip their screws.
