navigation not putting car in correct location. help

Recommended Posts

I jsut got this installed last night and from the first minutes of driving the arrow just goes off like to far on the map and then it catches up. Now today . It doesn't even pinpoint where my car is when its stopped. I tried adjusting it to where I was manually when I was at a traffic light. But it just screws itself up again. I take out the disk put it back in, nothing. I checked the signal on the antenna. Thier are like 8 little things that can go orange, Only 2 are actually lit up like its getting very low signal. The antenna itself is installed into my dash and probly doesn't have the greatest view of the sky. could this be my problem. other than that everything else works great.

lol it wasn't me that installed it, It was the professional shop that I bought the unit from that did. I have no idea where he put it in the dash though. I allready scheduled an appointment for tomorrow to finish it off. But that seems to answer my own dumb question . lol

Hook up your VSS wire. Then clear out all the 3D hybrid settings and give it time to recalibrate

mine is right by the upper part of my windshield and it lags. i will pass the street before it will tell me to turn left or right or whatever then it will try to reroute.. it also shows up off of the road as well.. wtf??? any suggestions?

Unfortunately, there are just as many users on here that get shitty reception under the dash as there are that get good reception under the dash. Seems totally vehicle dependent

I have mine installed under my dash, no VSS and it works really well. I would say its within 10-20 feet from where I really am. I think your is an issue of calibration. Give it some time it should get better.
