Julius
Read this hope it helps ! I make a mistake.Flashed ICn530 with N20 firmware and it was dead. But... investigating a little i found out how to recover ICN530 with original firmware. The firmware is located in SmartSTdesktop 2005 for ICN530 install,in the ICN530 Firmwarea folder.I renamed it to WINCEIMG.BIN.Now i needed a file called WINCEIMG.CKS . I created it so: New Text document. Inside the document . binSize : 9712800 <---size of winceimg.bin in bytes checksum: 0x39C87864 <-- hash checksum of winceimg.bin we calculate it , open WINCEIMG.BIN with WINHEX --TOOLS----compute hash--32 bits. So inside te text file it must be seen so: binSize : 9712800 checksum: 0x39C87864 Now we save the text file like WINCEIMG.CKS Copy WINCEIMG.BIN & WINCEIMG.CKS to Memory card then put the memory card on ICN530: Now we musst put the icn530 in TEST mode: to do it so: Press the Fuel Station Icon & The Icon with the Lines while we power on ICN 530 via the HARDRESET BUTTON (the one with the pencil). with Fuel Station Icon (UP) P ICOn (Down) we navigate to WIN CE by SD/MMC and press the icon with the lines (ENTER) Now we wait (DO NOT POWER OFF ON THIS STEP!!) A message will appear"Now you can reset you device":Finish ICN530 recovered

Julius
For your info. Navigation AVIC-S1 Firmware Update Notice August 9, 2007 Dear Valued Customer: Re: Free Firmware Update for AVIC-S1 to Address Recurring Pop-up Messages We would like to inform you of the availability of a free AVIC-S1 firmware update to address recurring pop-up messages notifying users of the availability of the 2007 Map Data Upgrade, which is scheduled to be available for purchase on SD card in September 2007. Pioneer has become aware that beginning on or about July 1, 2007, AVIC-S1 users began receiving recurring pop-up messages advising them that the map data on their AVIC-S1 was older than one year and recommending that they upgrade to more current map data, i.e., purchase the 2007 Map Data Upgrade. These pop-up messages may cause confusion and/or annoyance to some AVIC-S1 users. However, the performance of the AVIC-S1 is not otherwise affected and the 2006 Map Data that came with the AVIC-S1 will continue to operate normally, even if the 2007 Map Data Upgrade is not purchased. To address the confusion about and potential annoyance with the pop-up messages, Pioneer is offering a free firmware update to permanently disable these pop-up messages. Alternatively, the pop up messages will be disabled if a 2007 Map Date Upgrade is purchased and installed on the AVIC-S1. If you would like to receive the free update to disable the pop up messages, you may do so in one of three ways: Download the free update to your computer from here; OR Order a computer disc containing the free update by calling Pioneer Customer Service toll free at 800-421-1404; OR Calling Pioneer Customer Service toll free at 800-421-1404 to arrange for your AVIC-S1 to be mailed to Pioneer for Pioneer to install the free update. Pioneer service representatives are available Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (Eastern Time). If you have any questions, please contact Pioneer Customer Service toll free at 800-421-1404. Once again, Pioneer service representatives are available Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (Eastern Time). We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this product issue may cause you, and we thank you for your cooperation and continued support of Pioneer. Sincerely,
