t4o6o2l
I'm looking for more control. Will these two work together? I already have the D3 installed. If not, does anyone have any other suggestions. Thanks. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... s/DEQ-7600
WhiteBird00
The D3 already has a 12-band equalizer...just how much extra control do you think having 15 bands would give you?
t4o6o2l
That what I thought when I bought it, but its really only 3 groups of 4, they are not individually controllable. It is a b.s. way of making the D3 look like it does more than it really does.
WhiteBird00
Sort of... I just tried mine and it does tend to maintain a curve rather than allow individual control but if you switch to "narrow" you can get fairly precise control.
t4o6o2l
It really is something that has to do with my particular situation since I'm trying eliminate some very specific 3kh and 10kh frequencies. Even with the 15 band there is a q level which determines the roll-off of the specific frequencies. My last eclipse had a very nice equalizer and it really made a difference. My other option would be to sell my Focal K2P upgraded drivers for some Dynaudio 242s. Do you have any idea whether or not the equalizer will even work with the D3? WhiteBird00
No reason why it wouldn't. If you've got room to mount it along with the double DIN D3 then it should connect to the pre-amp output of the D3 just as it would with any deck.
t4o6o2l
Do you know that for sure? It sounds like your guessing. The equalizer requires the a DSP switch.
WhiteBird00
It is a "universal" equalizer. It will work with any (including non-Pioneer) system that can provide it with pre-amp level input. That's not a guess.
t4o6o2l
What is a DSP Switch then?
WhiteBird00
DSP = "Digital Signal Processing" but I have no idea what DSP Switch you're refering to. There is nothing on Pioneer's site nor anything I can find online that mentions any kind of DSP Switch as a prerequisite for installing this equalizer.
