Install done in NBS Silverado/Sierra 2007+

Recommended Posts

Well I thought I'd posts to help anyone else searching for this truck. Once your done it really isn't that complicated.

I spent a lot of time searching, some PM's trying to decide what I needed to make this work. At the end here is what I did:

Thanks for the posts on the bypass. I can't belive how many posts there are on this when it really was as easy as those stickied posts. 5 minutes tops.

2007 NBS

5.3 L

Non Premium Sound

I used the following:

1) PAC - OS3 - came with chime module and antenna adapater. Direcections where decent enough. Don't forget to set the volume before putting dash back together.

2) PAC SWIPS. Directions weren't the best but after reading them a few times it slowing made sense. Works as stated. Don't forget to turn on and set before putting dash together.

3) I put the blue tooth under the center counsole. Gotta love trucks. Lots of places to put lots of things.

4) I put the GPS antenna in the VIN spot and just pushed the cable inbetween the molding.

5) There is a amp remote on the D3 Ran some 22 gauge back to the amp.

6) Used the Yanlab camera from Ebay. Works. Wraps the picture a little though - 130 degrees of view. Still playing with it. I tapped the light green wire in the rear (reverse signal) by the lights. I used the ground there also. Snaked it up the tailgate and mounted it in the latch handle. After the fact now I wished I had mounted it in the ABS piece running across the top of the tailgate like another poster here to have a better angle down. Two of the bolts just kept spinning on that piece and I was getting annoyed so I moved on to the latch.

Some posts make is seem like the dash was hard to get apart. It wasn't too bad for me. I started top left with some small screwdrivers and just worked that one edge until the clip popped. I moved clockwise around the trim piece and viola. Had to pull some harnesses for a few things but that was it.

Go here for a better description of were to find VSS.

I didn't read that correctly and had just blindly taped the white/green on the front.....funny thing...I couldn't find anything that looked like the pic in his posts but if I turned around the piece I had..sure enough there it is.

Pull the cover off / undo the two clips and slowly turn around. That's were you should be.

I have another posts which show you clearly WHAT NOT TO DO

It looks like pictures load / list backwards. Start at the bottom for pictures.

If anyone has questions fire away.
