nihadd2 Posted April 30, 2008 Report Share Posted April 30, 2008 I tried reseting the unit that didnt help every time i put a cd in the navigation works, but as soon as i take the cd out my navigation stops doesnt work kinda freezes up every time i take the cd out i get "NO MAP DATA AVALIABLE ON THIS SCALE. mlarco52 Posted April 30, 2008 Report Share Posted April 30, 2008 when you take the nav disk out it runs on memory nav...which is just what you were viewing before and a little of the area....nav isn't that functional without the navi cd in the unit. thats why i got a ipod nano for music and always keep my nav disk in. knight20 Posted April 30, 2008 Report Share Posted April 30, 2008 The D3 is capable of storing a detailed area in it's memory. If you are in this area and take the Nav disk out, it will show the maps with streets that it saved. If you are not in the area, it scales up to a less detailed map. There is an option on the D3 where you can choose to save the current area's map into the D3 so that you won't need the disc, but of course it will only be for that area.
