typhoon43
This deck was previously bypassed (Z2), so I assumed I only needed to ground the parking brake and then the #1 pin of the AV2 pinout. I didn't get the AV2 harness when I bought it so I used a very small Centronics pin with what can only be described as like 22 gauge wire (VERY THIN) and then crimped a 16 gauge lead with a ring terminal and grounded it to the deck chassis. When I start the truck, I get a message that my "parking brake has been incorrectly wired" or something to that effect. I KNOW the Parking lead is grounded well, as it shares a ring with my gauge grounds. I guess I'm asking if that warning is normal if the 2nd wire isn't grounded properly. I don't want to pull the deck out again to find out it's something else. Thanks guys!
Hyperite
That message will pop up when the second wire is not properly grounded. Sounds like you know where the problem is.

kafklatsch
See Big Floppies recent post. Everyone needs to offer feedback on their experience with the upgraded avic Z1/Z2. We may have a problem to solve.
