AVIC D2 - TURNS ON BUT NO VIDEO AND BUTTONS DONT WORK

Installed a refurbished Avic D2 on a 2005 Toyota Corolla. Here's the problem:

 

1. The unit turns on - lights on the buttons

2. The stereo creates a sound for approximately 2 seconds then the sound is gone

3. I tried to use the buttons available but none is working except for the MP ADJ (the button that turns of the screen).

 

Do I have a faulty unit or dis i just do the wirings wrong. I tried all the instruction with bypass and without bypass but my unie just stays lighted but not functioning. Thanks in advance for those who can help me.
