Goosesedan Posted May 7, 2008 Report Share Posted May 7, 2008 Hello everyone I have been lurking around this website for at least 2 months now, and after much debate i decided to get a Avic Z1 which i had a great deal for, purchased $681 shipped to my door, i just received the unit but i have a few questions. 1. What are the necessary Updates/Upgrades i have to get? 2. The manufactured date on it is April 2006, so what bypass should i tell the installer to do? and what are the chances he would know which bypass to do? 3. Can i just purchase a z3 drive from ebay for $160 shipped and just simply do a plug and play upgrade to make my Z1 a Z3?? Thanks in advance Quote Link to post Share on other sites
zeek Posted May 7, 2008 Report Share Posted May 7, 2008 I have a April z1 too, what I did was downloaded the Bluetooth update file which is all over this site then burned it and updated my unit. Do the two wire bypass (which is also all over this site) while installing the unit then run the update and you are all set. Remember the bypass won't work until you update.
