Question about Z1 hack in G35

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I just got my AVIC-Z1 installed in my 04 G35. I had it done at Circuit City so everything was by the books. The manufactued date was April 2006. Will Ducatiboys hack work with the unit considering the date it was manufactured and if everything was installed uniformally? And will I be able to turn my headlights on and off 3 times to make the DVD in motion hack work? Can I just turn on my parking lights instead? Thanks in advance!

Well the date makes me think you will be just fine.

Right now, before installing, you can flash you lights to make sure. You don't need 3 times, just a "transition" when you see "starting pioneer navigation". When you see that text screen, the Z1 wants to see 1 change (on to off or off to on). You can test it.

What do you need? Turn it on and let it boot up and go to the nav screen. Check if the parking lights or the headlights put it in to night mode. Whatever you car needs to put it into night mode, that's what you need.
