razah9
I've got a 6th Gen Ipod, so if I get a 5.5 can I use the D3 to browse my videos and watch video playlists just like if they were songs? Also if my videos are using the dimensions in the divx guide to place on a data DVD, will I have to convert them to IPOD format MP4? Doesn't that change the dimensions to one that looks best on the ipod screen & not the D3's 480x250 that I encode the Divx videos in. So would the best quality video come from a DVD with Divx files or an Ipod?
VBLUE42
You wont get the ability to browse your videos from the D3 no matter which ipod you have. You have to physically choose your video and start play from the ipod to see it on the D3 screen. If you place your videos in a PLAYLIST on the ipod you can skid back and forth through the videos using the D3 once you start playback of the first video using the ipod controls. The D3 has no way in the interface to browse and choose videos. It just allows play through with the bus cable as audio does. As far as quality of video goes, You have to have your videos in MP4 on the ipod in order for it to even sync to the ipod and play back anyway. Just use MP4 on ipod and whatever you want on DVD and you should have no problems. Videos on ipod look fine on the D3 screen and usually have to proper dimensions.
