All of the aftermarket head units do NOT put the RDS chip in their products. On the flipside, all OEM radios have it. I am not sure if they were waiting for HD radio to take off or not (which is questionable anyway). Also note that the text stream you get from XM or Sirius is not RDS. It is a text protocol used in satelite systems. RDS is a chip in the radio specifically for FM. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
